(A/N: hi everyone! sorry if you guys had to wait for the next chap 😭 I was busy with school work, but since I cleared up some pending projects, I can continue writing 🫶🏻)

(at school)

"we have a constant function seven. if the input x becomes six, what's the limit here?" the teacher asked, tapping the chalk on the board.

"it's obviously seven, as the constant function's value will stay at seven" she continued, as I yawned.

god I'm sleepy

math isn't really the subject I was good at

but, it is quite surprising I got A's on my recent test scores

"now who wants to solve the next problem?" the teacher asked.

everyone groaned, as they hid their faces trying not to get called by the teacher.

".. I'm at fault, for asking" she said.

"alright our math geniuses?" she called out, bringing our attention to soo-jin and suho.

"please answer numbers 1 and 2" she instructed.

I placed my head on my palm, as I doodled around my notebook.

"and.." the teacher said, as she looked around the classroom.

"the transferee, yoon y/n?" she called out, as I looked up.

"please answer number 3" she said, as I gave her a 'oh-come-on' face.

of course.. it always has to be me.

I stood up and went straight to the board to answer the problem.

I analyzed it carefully and tried to recall the formula.

I guess this isn't too bad.

I finished first and everyone seemed to be shocked.

I looked at the teacher with complete confusion, as she approached me.

"my my.. a new top student perhaps?" she guessed.

"well.. I have high hopes for you dear" she complimented, as I smiled lightly.

"thank you?" I said, as I went back to my seat.

god why do I always have to get called out every single time..

I mean it wasn't that bad, but she could've just called out another student

I sighed as I shrugged the thought off, knowing that my complaints are just a waste of time and energy.

I put my arms on the table as I placed my head on top.

to be honest, the whole seojun and suho thing was still bothering me.

is that why they weren't in good terms?

is it because they blame each other for his death?

man if only you guys knew..

(time skip)

"no college would take me if I gave up on math right?" ju-kyung asked.

"you could make up for it with other subjects" I said, as she sighed.

"I don't think I'll be able to go to college" she whined, as she let's her head fall to my shoulder.
