Changed

Everything’s changing,

Everyone’s changed,

I don’t like this change though,

It’s as if a big hurricane has whirled its way through my life,

Destroyed nearly everything on its way through,

But it caused such destruction,

That because of it, everything else changed,

Everyone who avoided it changed too,

I seem to have no control over anything,

I have no chose of how things change,

They change just like that,

And leave me behind because I haven’t changed,

I’m just me,

Always have been,

Always will be,

I’m not happy being me,

But at least I’m not changing without my permission, or realisation,

Because I’m not good enough anymore,

I’m too “old fashioned” and am not up to date with everything in the world,

Why did you have to change?

You helped me through so much,

But you went and changed,

Turned into someone new,

Someone different,

Someone more ‘exciting’ is what you think,

But just because you’ve changed,

Doesn’t mean I have to too,

Does it?

If I jumped off a cliff,

Would you follow?

If I ran at traffic,

Would you follow?

I don’t think you would,

This is what it’s like for me,

But you wouldn’t know,

Because you’re this better version of you now,

Nearly a whole different version,

That decided to leave me behind because I couldn’t keep up.

Everything’s changing,

Everyone’s changed.
