Some fairytale

I always thought this.

I always thought life would be easy,

At least easier than this,

That it'd be like a fairytale,

Perfect family,

Being a princess living happily,

Being swept off my feet by someone on a white horse,

My knight in shining armour,

None of that ever comes true,

Does it?

That was how I wanted it to be,

From when I was so young,

I guess I was crazy enough to dream,

And to hope,

I wanted it to be like that,

Like a fairytale,

But all I got was a heartbreaking novel instead,

Full of hurt and pain,

I knew it would never be like that,

At least not the family part,

Even at that age,

But I kept dreaming,

Kept hoping in what I now know is impossible,

I still wanted it to be like that though,

Perfect family,
