You were a song writer, living in Los Angeles, hoping to be noticed by people in the big music industry. It was very difficult to get in as there were many talented musicians, composers and artists out there. It was your dream to be working with well known artists that could put in the heart and soul into the lyrics you wrote.

At the moment, you were in your room, different pieces of paper scattered all over your bed. You had this idea going, it has sparked your interest and brought out so many different phrases and words that mashed together to create a new song.

You were in a hurry, trying your best to come up with an amazing song that could be your big break. A short interview tomorrow morning was for sure making you anxious, especially since it was for one of the bigger music companies in Los Angeles. A cup of tea next to you on your bedside table, you're legs crossed in front of you and your the clicking of your pen being the only sound in the comfy room, you were beginning to get frustrated, then again procrastinating and watching another episode of Stranger Things took part of the blame.

"I really need to finish this for tomorrow, this could be my big break." You sighed, pushing stands of hair away from your face.

"Okay, let's see what I got here." You mumbled.

Rereading the scribbled phrases on the sheet of paper. It was a love song that sort of made itself up in your head while grocery shopping, it sounded kind of weird, but it didn't stop you in front of the cereal isle to write it down on your notes.

"Wait! This sounds better!" Moments like this were always your favorites. A spark of new ideas that could make the lyrics more strong and powerful. You added the new words to the sheet and smiled to yourself, satisfied with the adjusting.

That's how it went for the most part, with the addition to your keyboard for the melody and rhythm, edits kept being made to the song. A few breaks were in between to look over what you've done so far, while thinking of what tomorrow would look like at the tall buildings that some of the most powerful and famous people in the world.

Finishing the song, your signature at the bottom, you pack up the music sheets and the final product of the song into a folder and save everything for tomorrow morning. You set your alarm clock on your phone, charging it next to you and finally lay down in your now paper-free bed. Most nights you'd be wide awake, but after tonight's hard work you passed out.

Tomorrow will determine everything.

...

Your POV

"Why did I have all the volume up?" I groaned, grabbing my phone, turning off the alarm and unplugging it.

I stood up, stretching and rubbing my eyes, yawning in the process. I made my way to the bathroom to shower and clean up for the big day ahead of me.

For today, I decided to look my best so I picked out the best clothes I owned. A mid-thigh burgundy flowy dress with a pair of black flats. I curled my hair a bit and did a natural makeup look. I double checked that I had everything I needed before heading out the door earlier than I had to be in order to grab breakfast along the way.

I left my apartment, got inside my car and drove to the nearest McDonald's. I really needed a McGriddle and a hash brown right now to get me though the interview that would change my life for better or for worse. Hopefully it was for better.

The drive-thru line was packed, obviously, everyone was trying to get to work, I didn't want to be late, so I had no choice but to park and order inside to go. The line was for sure shorter than the one outside, I only waited about ten minutes before being at the front of the line, ready to order.
