Soulmate

Your POV

Everyone in the world is born and they all are marked with the name of their soulmate. The neatly written ink on your ring finger represented the person you were destined to be with forever. Many people find their soulmates while in high school, but I'm 22 and have never have been close to finding mine. I was trying my best to not feel sad about it, especially when all of my friends had found their significant other. I would act as if I was fine, but in reality I was really inpatient in waiting for my soulmate to make an appearance.

On my ring finger, the name Niall was perfectly marked. I didn't know a Niall at all. I hope he was a good person because I will be spending the rest of my life with him when we meet, if that would ever happen.

I was tired of people bugging me about the situation. They always asked the same questions that I'd give the same answer to. I was done with all their need of answers of my nonexistent love life.

I always thought that maybe it was an error, a mistake that was made. Maybe I wasn't destined to be with anyone, but the permanent inked name on my finger obviously belonged to someone. After all, I shouldn't feel sad about it, I have time to do things before settling down.

If my soulmate was out there, hopefully they'll find me or I'll find them, then we could be happy with each other just like it should be or was supposed to be.

...

"I don't want to go to a place where other young adults will be covered in alcohol, sweat and other unpleasant body fluids. Besides, the music kinda sucks." I reasoned with my friends who were convincing me to go to the club with them.

I wasn't my idea to spend a Saturday night, but when three out of the four people in my room were full on with the plan of going out tonight including their soulmates and apparently also myself.

I had already predictied what the night would look like. I would be sitting down at our table making sure none of our stuff was stolen while drinking a can of soda because like all the other times where I'd give in to them, I was the designated driver, and tonight won't be any different because they find a way to get me to go.

"Come on! You never know if you'll meet you soulmate there. Anything can happen."

Every single time they would bring in the possibility of meeting my 'other half' when they would beg for me to tag along to places I would never step foot on if my life depended on it.

"I know I'm not going to enjoy this." I sighed and got up from the couch, walking to the bathroom that had everything ready for me to change into.

They always won. Or maybe I just gave up to easily? Either way I was going wether I liked it or not.

Second Person POV

You were wearing a red dress, it went just below your fingertips and you had on some black heeled boots to go with it. You wanted to be comfortable for when you had to sit down for a few hours until you had to carry your friends into the car because their soulmates couldn't do it since they were also beyond drunk and couldn't even stand up properly. That was your duty as of tonight, to look out for your friends, you didn't mind, but it did get boring just sitting and not being in your comfort zone.

All of us were in the car, you were driving since you did not want to die at the age of 22 over a young adult crashing into something because they were too excited to dance at a club.
