Seeing Blind

A new star in the music industry. A new sound and influence with dreams bigger than ever. It was who you were and wanted to become. Ever since you were younger, you had raw talent. Your friends and family would comment about it, saying that you'd be a future music star, and here you were. Inside a tall building in LA with your manager who had guided you through the works and grown to be very close with.

"I still can't believe this is real!" You exclaimed, looking at he wall full of frames of the biggest artists.

"Believe it, (Y/N), because it's about to get even bigger and better."

"I would always dream being a singer, now it's actually happening."

"And it is, but don't get ahead of yourself, hun. You still have to put out your first song, have a little promo. The cover songs are amazing, however your songs will be even greater!" Your manager, Courtney, said. (a/n sorry if you're name is Courtney)

"Right." You nodded in agreement.

My songs. You thought.

...

"Hi, uh, my name is (Y/N) and this is my first cover of a song. I hope you like it."

You awkwardly sat in front of the camera your brother had let you borrowed. You were going to do what might have been the most nerve wracking and possible failure. Upload a video on YouTube. Just yourself singing to one of your favorite songs in front of a camera and upload it to the internet where anyone can see it.

It was a start.

It seemed like ages ago that you recoded yourself in your room, yet it was only about a year ago. Sure, you made yourself known a bit by grabbing opportunities that came your way like performing at school, small spaces where they wanted live music and at home with friends and family. At first it didn't not bother you one bit about self consciousness, but when it came to officially putting yourself out there, where that wasn't your hometown? That's where it hit you.

Still, you did it. To your favorite song. Editing the video a bit with a few skills you picked up in your technology class at school and from many tutorials online. You officially uploaded the video. Hoping for the best outcome.

Having a small following that only consisted of friends and family is what you originally started with, however once that video was uploaded, you became a little more known.

No, it wasn't an overnight sensation, it was a normal start that would only grow bigger as you kept your uploads. It became a weekly thing, kind of like a YouTuber who only posts videos of themselves singing to songs they like. You kept it up, picking up a routine for yourself, that landed you a place to where you are now.

...

You had written a song, besides singing, you had also loved to write songs based on themes that would relate to you or you'd want to be more developed into the form of a song. You kept them in a notebook for you to keep and read only, but today it came along with you.

You walked behind Courtney to a studio room. It was spacious and modern. A sound booth was on one side and on the other was a white board and table with many comfortable looking seats, giving the assumption of a brain storming and chill area.
