"Sis, stop beating yourself up," Jesse says from behind his book.
I ignore the comment and continue thinking.

"You and Ryder need to finish that project," Jesse says.
"That was random."
"I was just thinking," he puts his book down, "finish the project, then tell dad at the end of the semester."
"Hm," I shrug. It'd make starting over easier. Just finish my second semester of senior year somewhere else instead of cutting it off in the middle of first semester.
"Smart," I nod, "Jesse, you're a genius."
"I try," he says as he picks his book back up.
