Chapter 13: CAUGHT!

Azelia's P.O.V

My heart is pounding! My eyes are frozen, I can't even blink!

I spent a whole night at Nathan's old house and come home, and my parents aren't here. Now Aiden shows up at my door. Not to mention I almost died last night. I was trying to take it all in at once and process it but my brain felt overpopulated with thoughts. This town is getting so violent, I don't even feel safe anymore!

"Are you just going stay still!? Answer my question. WHOSE SHIRT IS THAT!?" Aiden yells on top of his voice and I whimper.

"Its m-m-y-y-y..." I stutter.

"Are you cheating!? Is someone else here!? Cause I swear I will kill someone today." he asks assuming.

"No, of course not!" I reply immediately after.

He comes right in and walks around a couple times then heads upstairs. I follow behind to see what he is doing. He goes right into my room.

"See! No one here." I say while watching him.

He lurks around, and even looks under my bed.

"The shirt is my dad's, he gave it to me because he says he doesn't like black. He knows I like oversized T-shirts so he gave it to me." I lie.

I didn't stutter, thats a first. I usually stutter alot when I lie so I have never been good at lying. Well its partly true, my dad does not fancy black, infact he has mostly dark grey and red suits. He does own a few black clothing though. Aiden turns around and comes closer. He pulls me close and starts to smell me again.

"Mr. McCreek didn't strike me as the cheap liquor type but I definitely recognise the smoker odour. I don't think he washed it before he gave you though, smells like sweat." he says. "We should get in the shower together."

Woah! He believed me just like that? And he said he smelt sweat, Nathan's sweat not my dad's. He didn't even question me further. Well it wasn't a well made up lie but it did its job. I couldnt tell him the truth either. Imagine how that would have went. His ignorant ass would run over there in his denum jacket and designer tie and seem like such a fearless man.

I always realized that everyone around him treated him with only respect. Sometimes it even seemed like they feared him because I have noticed that most of the men around him hesitate to even look at me. His body guards would keep a modest distance when I was around him. Something always seemed off about the way people addressed him too. Some even called him boss, and not only the bodyguards.

At first sight of him Nathan would put a bullet in him for sure. I know he still very much hates him. Then again he might not recognise him. Either way it wouldn't end good.

He scans me up down and smiled sheepishly. "Where are your parents?" he asks.

"They took a day out." I respond, lying again.

I don't know where they are but I don't want him to suspect anything. We layed on the coach and I didn't bother to shower as yet. We simply talked about stuff. Its the way he knows how to keep up a conversation thats so alluring. I can talk about anything and he just understands and keeps it flowing. We were there passing time and couple minutes after I hear a car pull up in the driveway. I didn't get up or anything but Aiden looked out through the window.

"Why are they back so early, didn't you say they have a day out?" he asks.

I didn't answer, I now realize I'm caught up in my own lie.
They knock on the door and Aiden goes to open it.

"Aiden!! What are you doing here? Have you seen Azelia. Please tell me you have!" my mom screams.

"What do you mean? She's right here." he tells her.

My mom runs right in with my dad behind her. She jumps on me and begins to kiss and squeeze me.

"Hunny, we've been so worried! We thought-" she cries.

"Azelia, where have you been!? We've been looking for you all night! You had us worried us so worried angel! And whose shirt is that!?" my dad questions.

Aiden furrows his thick eyebrows and looks at my dad in confusion. "She said it was yours, sir."

"Its obviously not mine." dad replies.

My heart sunk. I can't come up with anymore lies right now. I have been telling a few since morning and look where it got me.
My mom and dad is looking at me, and Aiden is looking at me! They all have unpleasant faces. What did I get myself into now!?
