Help.

That was all he wrote, and I knew what was wrong. I sprinted down the Prime Path, ignoring the pouring rain and the low rumbles of thunder, lightning streaking through the sky. Thank God I knew where the panic room was because if I didn't, Ranboo would be alone and lost in his fears. I kept running before I reached the hill where the room was hidden, the door covered by dirt.

"Ranboo?" I called out. "Ranboo, it's me. I'm here." No answer, and that worried me. I pulled out my shovel and dug away the dirt until I hit the metal door. I pressed the button and opened the door. There he was, knees pulled into his chest on the floor. There were more words scribbled on the walls along with smiley faces.

Dream

Son of a bitch, I thought to myself. I've always hated Dream and his tyranny, and clearly, him being in the prison still wasn't helping Ranboo. I gritted my teeth at the thought, but shook it off as I knelt down.

"Ranboo," I said softly. "Ranboo, I'm right here." Ranboo lifted his head, his cheeks burnt by his tears. I silently gasped as I noticed the open book next to him, his memory book.

"What's wrong, Ranboo?" I asked, ever so gently putting my hand on his.

"Y...you can't help," he whispered, choking on the tears. "You won't..."

"Shhh, slow down," I stopped him. "I want to help you. You're my best friend. Now, tell me what happened." Ranboo gulped and pushed his knees away from his chest.

"I visited him today," he said slowly. "I wanted to know a few things, but he just kept lying. He told me not to trust anyone, not even myself."

"Forget Dream," I said gently. "Why are you in here? Why didn't you come find me?"

"I was afraid, alright?" Ranboo cried out in frustration. "After what he said, I didn't know what to believe, what's real and what isn't." More tears ran down his face, and he winced as the tears burned his skin. I quickly but gently wiped off the tears and took hold of Ranboo's hands.

"It's okay to be afraid," I whispered. "I really do want to help you get through this. Remember, we promised to get through things together, no matter what." Ranboo nodded, but his different colored eyes filled up with tears again.

"I don't deserve a friend like you, Y/N," he said shakily. I smiled sadly at him as I put my arms around him, and Ranboo immediately collapsed into the hug. The height difference didn't matter; Ranboo's arms were wrapped around me and the rest of his body was on top of my legs. I didn't care as I started losing feeling in my legs, and I smiled as he stopped crying. His breathing slowly steadied, and I noticed he had fallen asleep.

"It's gonna be okay, Enderboy," I said quietly, resting my head on top of his.
