So, this one randomly popped into my head. I was listening to a song with a super cool guitar in it and I kinda felt inspired.

Just a note, the song that is included in this imagine is called July by Noah Cyrus and the lyrics will be in italics.

Third Person POV

Clay let out a sigh as he threw his car keys on the counter and flopped onto the couch. His stomach was filled with guilt after yelling at his girlfriend over the phone. He was tired and frustrated and just snapped. He didn't mean to upset her, but the damage was done, and he felt horrible.

"Hey, Clay." Clay looked up to see Nick standing in the doorway to his room.

"Hey, Nick." Sapnap frowned and sat down next to his friend.

"Is something going on with you and Y/N?" he asked. "She hasn't left her room and now you're acting all sulky."

"Yeah, I messed up," Clay replied. "I yelled at her while we were on the phone, and I knew as soon as I said it, I knew I had fucked up. I feel terrible, especially since this is the first time we've really argued."

"You made a mistake," Nick said, patting Clay on the back. "All you can do is apologize and set the record straight." Then, they both heard something from Clay's room. A soft strumming of a guitar soon, followed by a soft singing, filled the air, slowly easing Clay's mind but also reminding him that his girlfriend was seriously upset.

"She's good," Nick said, listening to the song. Clay listened, and immediately recognized what song she was playing.

"You know I'm, I'm afraid of change."

"Guess that's why we stay the same."

"So tell me to leave, I'll pack my bags and get on the road."

"Find someone who loves you better than I do"

"Darling, I know."

"'Cuz you remind me everyday I'm not enough"

"But I still stay."

Clay smiled sadly and got off the couch.

"Dude, where are you going?" Nick asked.

"To talk to my girlfriend, dumbass," Clay answered before opening the door to his room

First Person POV

I stopped playing to wipe off tears. I didn't mean to be so upset with Clay, but the way he snapped at me really shook me up, especially since we never argued. I shook my head and picked up the guitar again, trying to ignore how I was feeling.

"Feels like a lifetime just trying to get by"

"While we're dying inside."

"Done a lot of things wrong,"

"Loving you being one,"

"But I can't move on."

"You know I'm," I sang softly. "I'm afraid of change"

"Guess that's why we stay the same." The new voice singing made me stop and turn. Clay was standing in the doorway, a sad smile on his face.

"Y/N, can we talk?" he asked. I put the guitar back on its stand and I sat on the edge of the bed.

"If that's what you want." Clay nodded and sat down next to me.

"You know I didn't mean to snap at you, right?" he said, gently placing his hand over mine. "I just got so frustrated from being so tired. I never meant to make you upset, and I'm so sorry." I felt the tears well up in my eyes and looked down so Clay wouldn't see them.

"I know you didn't mean it," I replied, my voice breaking for a moment. "It just caught me off guard, that's all. I've never heard you so angry before."

"I know, and I'm sorry about that," Clay said, placing his hand on my cheek and raising my head so I could look at him. "I swear to you, I'll never yell at you like that ever again. You're the best thing that ever happened to me, and I don't want to lose you." I nodded tearfully and wrapped my arms around his neck in a hug. Clay wrapped his arms me and squeezed me, the warmth calming me down.

"Will you sing a different song for me?" he asked after a few minutes of quiet.

"Sure," I said. "How about our song?" Clay smiled and pulled me into his lap as he sat back on the bed against the headboard. I kissed his cheek before clearing my throat, singing with no guitar.

*Playing Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel*

"Don't go tryn' "

"Some new fashion."

"Don't change the color of your hair."

"You always have my unspoken passion,"

"Although I might not seem to care."

"I don't want clever conversation."

"I never wanted to work that hard."

"I just want someone, someone to talk to,"  I heard Clay softly start to sing along. I smiled as he kissed the top of my head and we finished the song.

"I want you just the way you are."
