New Year's Eve

Harry invited Emma and I to this "secluded bar in Brooklyn" to ring in the new year. When he said "secluded" he should have mentioned it'd be like searching for fucking Narnia to get here. Luckily, Jacques is pretty acquainted with Brooklyn - more than me, even - so he managed to get Emma and I there without having to climb through a closet.

The dynamic tonight feels strange but it also makes me happy. Emma, Jacques and I are finally back together, going out in the middle of the night just like our Paris adventures. Just like old times. And Jacques has been making more of an effort to actually like Harry, so hopefully tonight they can talk and...maybe become friends.

Okay, "friends" is kind of pushing it. I don't think I can imagine either of them being friends. They don't even have a single common interest but maybe I'll play the role of buffer and get them to get along.

We are in a karaoke bar. Harry Styles invited us to a karaoke bar where he is currently belting out Smells Like Teen Spirit so perfectly. I almost forgot he's a professional singer.

"Woah

"Woah." Emma says as she gets settled in the chair beside me.

"Right?" I acknowledge her and we both continue watching Harry, completely mesmerised all of a sudden.

Harry's POV:

She looks absolutely beautiful. I notice her the second she walks through the door and it suddenly becomes hard to focus on singing. I've never had to concentrate like I am now to avoid messing up. I thought I could handle it, thought I could handle seeing them together. It's the whole reason behind my decision in inviting them both to this small bar Jeff and I found in Brooklyn. My God was I wrong.

I notice her and Emma staring at me while I sing Smells Like Teen Spirit, just finishing up the chorus. I shoot a grin in their direction but it's quickly wiped away when Jacques sits next to my gi— Hayley.

My friends all clap for me once I've finished the song and I hand the karaoke mic to Jeff who decides he wants to serenade us next. Emma stands up as I approach the three of them and gives me a hug before doing her signature kisses on both my cheeks.
