Renesme now looked as if she was six despite being a few weeks old. She was growing unbelievably fast, Edward and Bella were both worried about how much time they were going to have with her until she was a full grown adult.

Jacob, Renesmee, and Bella went out walking due to the fact that it was snowing outside and the little girl wanted to catch snowflakes.

When the three came back, there was something off. They seemed a bit worried of some sort.

"Did something happen?" Ophelia was starting to become worried. Her head was tilted to the the side as her arms held her cat close to her chest.

"I saw Irina. Before I could talk to her, she ran off." Bella told the family.

"I'll call Tanya." Carlisle mumbled before walking out of the room and doing just that. After a few minutes he re-entered the room where the rest of the family was in, grabbing everyone's attention as he started to speak. "Tanya convinced Irina to reconcile with us."

"Well, it looks like she changed her mind."
Edward said with a sigh. Ophelia sighed and gave him a sad smile.

"Seeing Jacob must've been too much for her."
Esme tested.

"I wish I could have just spoken to her." Bella said frowning, taking a spot beside the piano where Edward was sitting, their daughter by his side on the bench.

"She's family, she'll come around." Carlisle assured them, putting his arm around Esme.

Edward started to play the piano. Jacob stood away from the family, leaning against the wall but keeping his eyes on the girl. Jasper and Ophelia were watching Renesmee as she played around with the keys with her father.

Alice came in with her usual bubbly smile holding a vase with different colored flowers. Her happy smile twisted into a foggy expression. Sabrina sat up straighter when she saw her mate's face, as did Lia. Alice gasped and the vase fell from her hands, shattering onto the hardwood floor.

Ophelia was quick to move to her sister's side, Sabrina slammed her book closed and sped over to her mate with clear worry etched onto her face.

"What is it, Alice?" Sabrina softly asked.

Alice looked at him her, fear showing through her golden eyes before she looked at the rest of the family, the frown not leaving her face.

"The Volturi, they're coming for us. Aro, Caius, Marcus, the guard... and Irina."

Ophelia took in a deep breath at this. She rubbed her sister's shoulder comfortingly. Bella was alarmed and motioned for her child to come to her arms. "Honey, come here." Renesmee stood up and walked over to her mother, Bella putting a protective arm around her daughter.

"Why?" Carlisle asked with furrowed eyebrows. Esme too had a very worried look. Everyone did.

"What did Irina see in the woods?" Edward asked, his eyes looking intently at Jacob then worried at Bella.

"We were just walking." She simply answered.

"Ness was catching snowflakes." Jacob added from his spot by the wall.

"Of course." Edward mumbled mostly to himself. "Irina thinks Renesmee's an immortal child."

Bella looked to him confused. Catlisle began to tell her what a supposed immortal child is. "The immortal children were very beautiful, so enchanting. To be near them was to love them. But their development was frozen at the age they were turned, they couldn't be taught or restrained. A single tantrum could destroy an entire village. Humans heard about the devastation, stories spread, the Volturi were forced to intervene. And since the children couldn't protect our secret, they had to be destroyed. The creators grew very attached, fought to protect them. Long established covens were torn apart, countless humans slaughtered. Traditions, friends, even families, lost."

"So the Denali's mother made an immortal child?" Bella clarified. Carlisle nodded his head, Bella got angry. "Well, Renesmee is nothing like those children. She was born, not bitten. She grows every single day."

"So can't you just explain that to the Volturi?"
Jacob asked. He pushed himself off the wall looking upset.

"He already has enough evidence from Irina's mind. He believes her." Ophelia told him gently.

Jacob thought for a moment and shrugged. "Then we fight."

"Their offensive weapons are too powerful. No one could stand against Jane." Jasper responded to the boy.

"Alec's even worse." Alice chimed in.

"Well, then we convince them." Bella tried.

"They're coming to kill us, not talk." Emmett pointed out to the brunette with a hint of annoyance.

"No, you're right. They won't listen to us. But maybe others can convince them. Carlisle, we have friends all around the world." Edward said, turning his head to look at his adoptive father.

"I won't ask them to fight." Carlisle responded with a stern shake of the head. There was no way any of them would turn against the Volturi.

"Not fight, witness." Edward corrected. "If enough people knew the truth, maybe we can convince the Volturi to listen."

Esme turned her head to look at Carlisle. "We can ask this of our friends." He sighed and looked down to his wife. He nodded with a small, worried smile.
