2. Unexpected

In the next morning, I get to wake up by my personal staff and Lisa.

L: Time to get up, your highness.

She takes my blanket away, but I try to get it back. I throw my head back and cover my face with my hands. Being a princess can be so annoying. Can't I just get up on my own?

L: You're having a date with Duke August tonight at 5. Do you have any wishes for this?

E: Yes, like just give me my blanket back, please.

I moan annoyed but now I don't have a chance so I sit up in the bed. I realize what Lisa just said. A date? With Duke August?

E: When did I say yes to a date?

L: Your dad arranged it and as far as I know, you obviously said to want to meet him last night.

I fall back onto my pillow and take it to cover my face and scream into it. With Dad being involved, I don't have a chance in this one and need to do it.

E: Fine, but I'll be out with a friend tonight, so don't look for me, alright?

L: Good, but be back on time.

She says strict to me, because she knows me too well. Lisa leaves the room and I tell also everyone else to leave the room. I ignore the dress they put out for me and go to my dressing room. I look around for a cute outfit. I can't decide which one is the best but than I see one of my favorites. A cute little summer dress with little flowers on it. I take it and look at it for a while, before I nod and get dressed.

Suddenly my phone rings.

Good morning, princess. x

I text him back smiling, and walk over to the breakfast where my family already waits for me. I curtsy before I sit down on my place.

E: Good morning.

G: My dear, you're going out with Duke August tonight. Please make it work this time.

E: I know, Lisa already told me. But dad, Duke August is very-

Simon kicks my leg under the table as he sits at the opposite site of me and gives me a warning look. I give him a questionable look back, but to be honest, I do know what he wants from me.

E: Sure dad, it will be very nice to see him again.

I give in after Simon give me another serious look and put on a smile.

G: Good, come to my office after your meeting.

You all finish your breakfast and you walk after Simon as he lefts the room.

E: What was that, Simon?

S: You can't disappoint Dad again.

E: You know how much I hate Duke August.

S: Yes, as much as you hate every man who steps into your life, Elisabeth.

He sighs, but I know he does understand me because we are siblings. We know what the other feels.

E: I just don't want to be in love.

S: What about this guy from last night? Who is he? I guess, it wasn't Duke August.

E: I won't tell you Simon.

I shake my head and walk away. I know he would ruin this for me. He is not royal. I can hear him calling me, but I ignore it and keep walking.
