"Ah Miller finally break up with that boyfriend of yours?" Keith asked he munched on a bag of chips. On cue Billy comes up behind me. Keith takes a gulp and runs to the back room pushing Steve out.

"Hey it's not my shift yet" Steve yells at the door before turning his attention to us.

"Oh hey what can I help you with?" Steve asked

"Movie recommendations?" I asked flipping through a pile of movies on the counter.

"Let's see. We got this really great movie. Let me go get it" Steve said running off to find the movie. "Here" he said plopping it down on the counter.

"Steve you recommended this last week. Anything else? Don't get me wrong we love Back to the Future but we were hoping to watch something....different for once"

"I have a Nightmare on Elm's street" Steve said grabbing the movie from under the counter. Billy and I looked at each other.

"We'll take it" we said in unison. I plopped the key from the Camaro on the counter and paid for the rental.

"Woah did you drive it? Wait did you finally get your license?" Steve asked.

"Yeah you wanna go for a spin?" I said dangling the keys in front of him. Billy had ran off to look at the other movies on the shelves.

Steve hopped over the counter and we sprinted out of the store. "Harrington" Billy yelled out.

"Just once around the block" I yelled back pulling the car out. We spun around that block going as fast as possible. Steve enjoying the car ride.

As we pulled back in we saw Billy leaning against the pole outside of the video place.

"So how'd you like it Harrington?" Billy asked trying to sound cool.

"Man that was amazing" Steve said running his hands through his hair. "I gotta get me one of those"

I tossed Billy the keys and hopped in the passenger seat.

"See you Steve" I called out as he walked back into the store. He waved goodbye.

Later that night Billy and I watched the movie on his couch, Susan was in the dining room knitting. As it ended we headed back into the kitchen to clean the dish mess we made before I went back home.

"Uh Susan, I was wondering if we could talk a little later" Billy said. She looked up pushing her glasses to her forehead.

"Yeah sure when you're ready just come find me" she said in such a maternal way it was hard not to love Susan.

"Billy I'm going to head out. I'll see you tomorrow morning" I said grabbing my bag from the floor and slipping my shoes.

"Yeah see you tomorrow. Goodnight Phoebe love you" Billy said placing a kiss on my forehead.

"Goodnight Billy. Love you too"

I walked across the grass and onto the street. Lightning bugs danced across the lawns, the sun well beyond setting painted the sky orange.

I walked up to my front door and unlocking it with my key. Shutting the door behind me to see my dad had his girlfriend over.

"Hi Joyce, it's nice to see you again" I said.

"Phoebe come sit. Joyce and I have been talking and well, we are considering moving in together. She would move here obviously as we have the spare bedroom for her boys... you would have to share with El though" my dad began.

"When would the move be?" I asked. The two looked at each other and Joyce began to bite her lip looking nervous.

"Tomorrow" my dad said. I choked on the water I was sipping.

"So this has been planned and your just now telling me this. Doesn't this seem kind of rushed?" I asked.

"I know it's only been like four months but we'd like to have you all under the same roof before you and Jonathan move on to bigger and better things"

I sighed knowing this wasn't the worst to happen to me. I was honestly just mad about having to share my room.

"After school the movers are coming" my dad called out as I walked up to my room. I glanced around, taking in my last night alone in this room.
