Caleb's POV-

Cassie and I walked to the office following Dom.

When we reached the office, I told Cassie to stay there. Dom and I stepped in and saw a guy of our age already sitting there.

He had a few cuts and bruise here and there. He had a good built and looks way too strong for a rogue but not as strong as me or Dom.

"Where's my sister", he asked restlessly.

Dom glared at him.

"What is your name?", he asked.

"Does it matter", he replied bitterly. "Just give me my sister and we'll leave"

I can see that Dom is getting mad and I don't blame him at all. This whole fiasco is just way too much. So much has happened ever since we came here. Dom is so caught up in all this ,that he had to make the Elders do the offerings as we can't let the Heavenly Fire burn without any offerings and he wasn't able to attend that. It's valid for him to be frustrated.

"Don't talk to me that way. I am the Alpha and you will respect me , rogue or not. I don't care", he said in full Alpha mode, "Now I don't have the will or energy to beat around the bush, so here's the deal-

You see, your mate, she is like my sister. And the way you treated her that day is not acceptable but she is looking past it and wants to speak to you. So you will speak to her, hear her out and you both will sort your matters while we wait outside and in return we will give you your sister. If you are not willing to talk to her then you can leave without your sister", he said sternly.

I looked at him and he seemed to have an inner battle. He let out a long sigh, "Fine. I'll talk to her. But let me tell you this. I don't want a mate so don't get all violent on me when her heart breaks", he spat.

What an incorrigible mutt he is! Who the hell does he think he is? And Cassie is thousand times better than him.

If he were not her mate, then I would've ripped his throat right now.

I let out a loud growl at that.

Dom looked really angry too.

"Don't you dare misbehave with her. I am not saying that give her false hope but if you speak with her in the same tone that you are speaking to us, then I'll make sure that I personally rip your throat", Dom growled.

"And I know that you were gonna kidnap Cassie to use her as a bait. If you even lay a finger on her, then I'll break each bone in your hands and then I'll rip your arms off and feed them to the crows", I threatened him further.

He stood there unaffected. It boiled my blood more.

Fucking rogues. This is the main reason I don't like rogues.

"Fine. I'll 'gently' tell her the various reasons why we can't be together. Okay?", he said nonchalantly putting extra pressure on the word 'gently'.

We both glared daggers at him while walking out the room.

I looked at Cassie and all I could feel is sorry for her. She doesn't deserve to be mated to such a jerk. She is such a good soul.

But what has to come is to come and with that I told her that it's her cue to go inside.

She smiled weakly at both of us and then entered the room.

15 minutes later....

Even though it's not much time since she went in, hardly 15 minutes I guess. But I can't help but feel protective. I don't know what's going on inside.

What if he is hurting her? My assumptions of what might be happening are turning me crazy.

Just then Lilly entered the scene. She interlaced her fingers with mine and squeezed my hand reassuringly.

"How's Rey?", I asked her.

"He's fine. Actually he is more than fine. And the way he and his mate are drooling over each other, I don't think they will even wait for a day when he gets off that bed to complete the mating process", she chuckled.

I let out a light  chuckle as well. Suddenly the office door flew open.

Out came the rogue with an annoyed expression on his face and following him was Cassie with a victorious smirk on her face.

As soon as his eyes landed on Lilly,  his expression changed from frowning to smiling.

"What happened to your eyes?", he furrowed his eyebrows, "You changed a lot.. Did they torture you", he asked now growling, "because I can't sense you wolf. And oh Elyza did you get you voice back? I heard you talking that day..."

"Uh-

Lilly was about to speak when he suddenly interrupted,

"Never mind. The sooner we leave, the better. And we'll have enough time to talk about this later.Come, it's time for us to go", he said walking towards her and grabbing her wrist. I let out a loud growl and ripped his hand away from her.

I wrapped my hand around her waist tightly and pulled her towards me.

"Mine", I snarled loudly at his face. My fangs are already out.

He stood there wide eyed.

"Yours? Your mate?", he said dumbfounded .

"She is not your sister. Your sister is in the cell downstairs. She just looks like her", Dom said and he just stood there like a babboon.

No one said a word for a while. And he was just eyeing Lilly awestruck and I want to rip his eyes out of his skull. I hide Lilly's tiny frame behind mine and stood there with my hands crossed and arching my eye.

Cassie cleared her throat breaking the silence,
"So I've decided to go rogue ", she said nonchalantly and I lost my mind.

"WHAT!? Are you out of your mind? You won't go rogue ", I shouted.

Dom groaned with his hand rubbing his temples .

"Are you even hearing yourself. You can't go rogue and that too over this bastard ", he said pointing the rogue, and this is the first time I noticed that he had bags under his eyes. I wonder when was the last time he slept.

"His name is Cole and I am not doing this because of him"

"Oh really!?", Dom, ro- Cole and I said simultaneously.

"Yeah", she shrugged her shoulders.

Dom mindlinked me telling me that he is going to take the rogue to the cells where Elyza is , giving Cassie and me some privacy so that I can put some sense into her.

I nodded.

"Elyza is in the cell downstairs", he said and then motioned Cole to follow him.

I turned to Cassie.

"What do you think you are doing?"

"Caleb I am not going to be a rogue forever. Just understand, please. I really need to make my relationship with my mate work. Just give me three months please", Cassie's victorious stance changed to pleading one as soon as his mate left.

"No cassie. This is dangerous. What if he hurts you? No one would be there to protect you"

"He won't. He won't hurt me. I am sure he won't. No matter he admits it or not, I know he feels the mate bond and he is not a bad person. He will never raise his hands on me", she said determined.

I sighed.
"Well this is not only my decision. It is Rey's decision too so yeah, talk to him first before taking any steps"
