"... Math 1! In room 269. You ready, Pikachu?"

"Pika!"

"Alright, lets go!"

Ash was about to run down the hall to his next class when-

"Hey Ashy-Boy!"

Ash sweatdropped. "Gary, I've told you not to call me that a million times."

"Sure thing Ashy-boy. Since we both have math in the same direction, you want walk there together? Mabye Serena can join us as well."

Gary Oak is now your official mach maker, whether you like it or not, Gary though with a smug grin.

"Sure, Gary."

Gary sure is acting weird. I wonder if he's up to someing... Ash wondered.

"Hey Serena! want to walk to math with Gary and me?" Ash called out from the doorway.

Serena, who was still paking up her things in her seat, turned a little red from all teh attention she was getting from Ash, though of course Ash didn't notice. "I'd love to!"

Dawn noticed the conversation. "Can I join as well?" She asked politley.

Begore Gary could make an excuse as to why not, Ash answered. "Of course! The more, the merrier!"

Gary frowned. This will make things a little harder, but no problem for the Oakster!

The four of them left the classroom. Behind them, they could still hear May and Drew arguing.

"...Not. JUNE!"

"'K then, April."

"Ugh!"

The four of them giggled as they headed into the hall.

________........________

Gary's original plan was to get Ash and Serena to walk together, then come up with an excuse to dip, effectively leaving them alone together, but with Dawn there, that wouldn't work. But that might actually be for the better. Let's see how much Ashy-boy knows.

Since their first class was in the very corner of the building, the halways were largely empty. The cream-colored walls were lined with pictures of pokemon, and the floor was lined with gray tiles.

Gary walked a little faster than Serena and Dawn, pulling Ash a bit ahead with him. "Hey Ash, what do you think of Serena?" He asked.

He hoped Ash would answer something that proved he had a brain, but Ash simply replied, "She's a really great performer and baker, and cares a lot for her pokemon! But why do you ask?"

Gary mentally smacked himself. He managed to bring up both pokemon and food in a conversation about girls. Gotta hand it to the guy, I didn't think it was possible.

"I mean, what do you think of her as more than a friend?"

"More than a friend? What do you mean?"

Gary mentally smacked himself once more. What do you mean, what do I mean? What kind of teenage boy doesn't know what it means to like-like a girl?!? This isn't going to be as easy as I thought.

"Ughh. I guess I have to break it down to the bare-bones basics for ya, Ashy-boy. If you had to pick between helping a random girl you know, say, May, or help Serena, who would you help?"

"I would help both of them!"

For a third time that day, a silent smacking sound could be heard ringing about Gary's brain.
