Shehnaaz stood at the door of her apartment staring at Sidharth blankly. Sidharth smiled at her nervously. "Dinner bheja hai Maa ne tumhaare liye." He said quietly.

Shehnaaz nodded, stepping away from the door, and gestured for him to come inside. Sidharth sighed, shutting the door behind him and placed the tiffin boxes on the table. Then, he walked towards her kitchen, where she had disappeared without a word after silently gesturing to him to come inside the apartment.

"Bhookh lagi hai?" Sidharth asked softly. Shehnaaz didn't respond, instead walked out of the kitchen with plates and bowls and set them on the table. Sidharth followed her out and watched as she arranged the utensils on the table.

He walked up to her, took one of the plates from her and placed it at the far end of the table. "Ek plate mein hi kha lenge dono. Kya zaroorat hai itne bartan use karne ki? Tu subah se already gadha mazdoori kar rahi hai." Sidharth said softly.

Shehnaaz didn't say anything even now. He sighed. "Accha tujhe chahiye toh tu le le plate."

Shehnaaz shook her head. "Mujhe bhookh nahi hai. Aap kha lo, mein sone ja rahi hoon."

Sidharth looked at her surprised, "Superstar--"

Shehnaaz ignored him and turned towards her room. Sidharth held her hand and pulled her back, catching her safely in his arms. "Naraaz hai theek hai, but bhookhi toh mat so."

Shehnaaz rolled her eyes, jerking his hands off herself. "Aapko kya farak padta hai?" She scoffed, walking away from him.

Sidharth gasped, running after her. "F**k, baby please yaar. I know tu merse upset hai aur banta bhi hai tera upset hona lekin at least khaane pe toh mat nikal gussa." He exclaimed.

Shehnaaz sat on the bed and pulled a pillow on her lap, cuddling to it. "Don't give yourself too much credit." Shehnaaz said curtly.

Sidharth smiled at his adorable little munchkin who had now hugged the pillow tightly. "Yahan laa doon baby ka khaana?"

"I'm not hungry Sidharth, just leave me alone." Shehnaaz snapped at Sidharth, making the man go stumbling a few steps back.

Just what you deserve, Sidharth. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Sidharth sat on the edge of the bed. "I know mein bahot zyaada pareshaan kar raha tha tujhe do dinn se. Meri galti hai, I'm sorry. I know itna nahi kheenchna chahiye tha baat ko, aur merko tu jaise punish karna chaahti hai tu kar, bas please-- please don't ask me to leave. Please let me feed you something, khali pet toh tu acche se lad bhi nahi paayegi mujhse." He said softly.

Shehnaaz stayed silent, not accepting or denying his offer and Sidharth's heartbeat was on a constant, steady rise. She was his chattering little bird and her silece had always spelled out disaster.

Today, it was directed at him. Both her silence and the disaster that was sure to follow this silence.

Sidharth knew that it was his actions, and his reactions to her actions that had landed them both in this situation and he couldn't escape the consequences

Nevertheless, she hadn't denied his request, hence Sidharth decided to take it as a positive sign and ran out of the room to get the dinner served in a plate. In a matter of minutes, he was back in her room, sitting beside her with the plate of dinner.

He tore a piece of chapati, but before he could feed it to her, Shehnaaz took the plate in her own lap and started eating. Sidharth whimpered quietly, pouting at her, but she continued to nibble on her food, not even sparing him a look giving him a good taste of his own medicine.
