Agatha Lockwood began, her eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and nostalgia.

"It all started a few centuries ago, when a powerful clan of sorcerers recognized the immense magical energy emanating from this very place."

I leaned forward, my curiosity piqued.

"Really? I had no idea!"

"Yes, my dear. This location held a unique convergence of magical forces, making it the perfect spot to build a sanctuary of enchantment. And so, Di Flores Manor was born."

"That's incredible. But how did Amos Di Flores come into the picture?"

"Ah, Amos... He was a cunning man, driven by his desire to possess the manor's power for himself. However, the sorcerer family who had inherited the house refused to sell it to him. They understood the significance of what lay within those walls."

I furrowed my brow, a sense of injustice brewing within me.

"So, what did Amos do?"

Agatha sighed, her voice tinged with disappointment.

"He used his connections in the local government to manipulate the situation. Unfairly, he managed to seize control of Di Flores Manor, casting aside the rightful heirs who had safeguarded its magic for generations."

"That's terrible! How could he do something like that?"

"It was a dark chapter in the manor's history, my dear," Agatha's eyes softened with empathy, but her voice turned grave as she continued her tale, "Liandra, there have been troubles plaguing Di Flores Manor ever since Amos took control. It's as if the very essence of the house has been tainted."

I leaned in closer, my heart heavy with anticipation.

"What kind of troubles, Mrs. Lockwood?"

"Strange occurrences, my dear. Unexplained phenomena that defy logical explanation. Doors slamming shut on their own, whispers in empty hallways, and a chilling presence that hangs in the air. It's almost as if the spirits of the past are restless, seeking justice."

My mind raced with thoughts, trying to make sense of it all.

"Do you think it's possible that the former owners placed a curse on the manor?"

She nodded, her voice barely above a whisper.

"That's what Amos believed. He thought that the sorcerer family, in their anger and grief, had left a curse behind as a final act of defiance. And perhaps, their anger has seeped into the very foundation of the house, causing misfortune and tragedy."

My heart sank as Mrs. Lockwood shared the most heart-wrenching part of the story.

"Mia... she was affected too, wasn't she?"

"Yes, my dear. Mia, the vibrant and enchanting soul that she was, fell ill when she turned seventeen. It was a mysterious disease that baffled even the best doctors. We lost her too soon, and it left a void that can never be filled."

I couldn't help but feel a mix of sadness and anger.

"It's all so unfair. Amos took the manor, and innocent lives were affected because of it."
