--Chapter 3--

(Harry's POV)

I heard a muffling sound come from behind the building. I knew someone caught me. I could easily hear the panic behind the frightened human. I pretended to walk away when I finally heard their relieved breath from a couple yards away like if it was right next to me.

I suddenly flashed from my location to where I knew the witness was, within a millisecond.

Surprisingly it was Melissa from my Chemistry class. She shrieked once she saw me and immediately stood up from her sitting position with her back against the wall ready to sprint, when I caught her by the arm and shielded her mouth.

"Sh." I hushed her. I didn't want her to be afraid, but I knew she would scream as soon as I'd let her go.

After a while of her struggles to get out of my hold, her screams and pulls were useless, so she stopped completely. Thank God.

I let her go carefully, keeping eye contact on her. Her body was trembling intensely in front of me. I knew she wanted to scream and hurry out, but it seemed as if she couldn't get it out of her system.

I stepped closer to her, looking down at her from my towering height.

"I want you to forget about what just happened and what you just saw..." I started as I stared deeply into her teary eyes. "I'm going to take you home and you're going to forget all this, including how you got home."

Her eyes were drawn to me, never detaching themselves off mine until I was done.

And there it was. My last compelling wish. I used it wisely, though. I knew I couldn't get any more compelling powers in till a decade later, which sort of made me regret all the other times I've compelled people for stupid things.

I picked up Melissa effortlessly in bridal style and in 5 seconds of swishing through half the town, I made it to her house. All the lights were out, so I knew everyone was already asleep.

I quickly carried her up to the second floor, opening the window into the darkness of her room.

Before tossing her on the bed which was luckily right next to the window, I looked down at her, who had seemed to fallen asleep within seconds. I smiled to myself before setting her on her bed with one swift movement, not even having to enter her room, nor house.

I closed the window and threw myself down to the ground, landing fluidly on my feet and fleeing away into the woods.

••

(Melissa's POV)

I stirred out of my sleep, rubbing my eyes tiredly until I rose. I sat up on my bed with my hands holding me up while I looked around my room in confusion. All I could remember was my dad telling me that he was going to the military and I got ready to leave. But I don't have any idea where I went or what happen. Oh god, did I get drunk?

My confusion toyed with my mind a bit as I wondered what went on. I don't even remember falling asleep. How can I forget all this? I'm not even that forgetful. But I know I went out last night. That explains my wet Uggs that probably got soaked from puddles of the rain.

I turned to look at my alarm clock that read 12:31 P.M. I squealed, trying to get up from my bed.

"I'm late, I'm late, I'm so late." I muttered to myself as I switched from my wet Uggs to dry shoes. I didn't bother changing clothes because that would be a waist of time and plus, no one saw me in it anyways. I look normal so who gives.

I ran to the bathroom and did my normal routine. A bit in a hurry, though.

I still couldn't believe how this happened. Not even in the weekends I sleep so much. I wasn't even that tired last night. Is that what being drunk does to you?
