--Chapter 21--

I stood in front of the very large familiar door that I remember visiting. It only took me a couple seconds before ringing the doorbell and hearing the sound echo throughout the large house from the outside.

The door opened to a face that I really didn't want to speak to- I'd hoped that it was Harry who would open honestly. I don't care if I am over-exagerating.

"Is Harry home?" I asked, avoiding as much conversation as I could.

"Well, hello to you too." His smile tugged on his lips. I rolled my eyes as I tried to look past him and into the house to see if I could spot Harry, but following my stare, he blocked my view.

"I'm not going to be friends with you. You tried to kill me, so you don't deserve any of my nice greetings." I smiled falsely. He doesn't expect us to be all cozy now, does he? I'm alive because Harry got him away from me.

"You have some nerve talking to a vampire like that."

"For goodness' sake Landen, let her in. She's not here to see you." Jade appeared behind him as she pushed right passed him and grabbed my arm, guiding me into the house. I smiled at her thankfully as Landen gave me a teasing scowl. I wanted to stick my tongue out at him since he found this all so humorous.

"I'm so sorry about Landen, and about you finding out. It really was suppose to stay a secret. I want you to know that as long as I'm around, none of them will hurt you. I promise." She smiled. "Harry's in his room down the hall, would you like some water?" She offered. It's funny how she went from apologetic, to informative, to suggesting a glass of water.

"No thanks." I smiled before trailing down the hall as I passed the maroon walls. I hadn't even known which room was Harry's. I just guessed it was the one with the opened door while I stepped in uncertainly. It did look like a room that could be Harry's- I mean, I really don't know how to imagine his room, but this seemed pretty simple and capable of being his room.

"Harry?" I called out before realizing that no one was in here. That's funny because I do see his school books on top of the bed. I decided to head back out of the room but as I turned around, I ran into Harry.

"You scared me." I exhaled. He curved his lips into a smile. I guess he was aiming for that.

"I hope you'll get used to it."

He closed the door behind him as I stepped back in, assured that this was definitely his room. I sat on his bed and set my bag next to me. "Your room is huge." I looked around examining it. It was twice as big as mine. He literally had enough space for so much more stuff than he has.

"So is my bed." He winked as I rolled my eyes.

"It's actually pretty bright in here. Usually vampires would be in the dark, right?"

"In the movies." He said carelessly. I almost forgot this wasn't a movie. Everything that was in the movies, was completely different. Who would've known that vampires even existed?

"I honestly would of thought that you slept in a coffin or even upside down." I stated observantly. Do vampires even sleep?

"We're not bats." He smirked as he sat down and got comfortable.

I stood up to look around on his bookshelf. He had a lot of antiques and books. I laid my hand across the smooth marble of a square box behind his iPhone dock.

"It was my sister's." I heard him say from behind me. I turned around to see him watching me from his bed as he was laid against his headboard. He stood up to walk over next to me in front of the shelf. He opened the box as it revealed a small ballerina and a mirror. I watched as he twisted the key on the right side of the box and the music started playing.
