UPDATES: WEDNESDAYS!

--Chapter 36--

“I can’t believe it’s broken.” Harry sighed, staring down at the necklace between his index finger and thumb. He looked disappointed, but who wouldn’t? First of all, it’s suppose to be around his dead sister’s neck. I’m just surprised that it still hasn’t got rusty or anything- must’ve been kept in really good conditions. But judging from the fact that it’s actually broken where you hook it, maybe not.

“Do you really think it was dimitrious?” I questioned him, still not able to accept the obvious truth that’s right in front of us.

“I think it’s become more than evident now.” He was right. He stuck his hand into his pocket and placed the necklace in there, exasperated from looking at it.

“Are you two planning on leaving anytime soon?” A male teacher in a suit, carrying a man purse walked out of the exit doors that we were blocking. I have now just realized that we still haven’t walked to our cars. We were dismissed from detention and only walked out of the building, too distracted by what happened to continue to walk to our separate cars. Joey still hadn’t left, he was still by the curb of the carpool waiting for his dad to pick him up. He was yards away, so we made sure not to talk too loud.

“We’re almost leaving. We just needed to exchange notes.” I answered the teacher, who looked like he needed sleep... and a girlfriend. He looked like the stereotypical type of male teachers. The types with barely any hair on their heads, almost bald, and who ruined your life with each homework they give you. He shook his head as he walked away from us groaning stupid teens under his breath.

Harry and I looked at each other, in expectation of one of us cracking a laugh. But it immediately stopped as soon as we both spotted a pickup truck make it’s way around the aisle and to the carpool lane, stopping next to Joey. It was his dad.

Harry and I stared at Joey get into the truck. The truck was a solid light grey, the one that I’ve always seen outside of Joey’s house with his car. The windows were tinted though, which made it almost impossible to see the inside clearly. All we could see was a little bit of his dad’s face, and he was staring directly our direction. I’m still wondering if Joey’s knows about Harry being a vampire and his dad being a hunter. His dad is a hunter unquestionably, but Joey doesn’t really seem like he knows anything. I mean, he can’t be. I’ve known him for so long. His hatred towards Harry can most likely just be jealousy.

Harry’s and my eyes followed the car until it was out of our school’s property before we were snapped out of it and looked back at each other. It was like we expected something to happen. “We should go.” Harry suggested.

I nodded, not saying anything before I turned around ready to leave. But I felt him grab my hand before I could walk away. I turned towards his direction, his hand still holding mine and he effortlessly pulled me into a hug, kissing me while at it. I couldn’t help but smile, so did he.

“We need to do something.” He pursed his lips, holding my hand tightly.

I couldn’t agree more. There's so many things going on. First was Joey’s dad being the vampire hunter, and then the people dying, I’ve lost track. “I know we do. Everything gets worse by the minute...”
