--Chapter 20--

I steadied myself back on the flat surface, embarrassment heating up my cheeks. I can't believe I just fell off these stupid bleachers.

It stunned me more that Harry actually caught me right away. Even though I figured out what he was, not too long ago, I still couldn't process my mind around this normally. I watched as he stepped up another step on the bleachers and reached the same height level as me.

"Just give me one chance," He encouraged me, his face looked like he really wanted me to accept him this way. "If I screw up, I'm sorry. I will understand if you still feel afraid."

I stood quiet, speechless on what to say. I really don't want to make a mistake answering this. Being around him can be dangerous for me, and I am aware of that.

"Tell me if you want to try this out." He added.

I have every reason in the word to say no, simply because it's obviously the better choice. It's literally risking my life willingly. But life isn't safe, it's dangerous. I don't even know what I'm thinking before I sigh, "fine."

His smile grows. It's evident he's happy that I gave him a chance. "One chance." I confirm.

I have no idea what I'm getting myself into. I've never even believed in vampires.

I fluttered my eyes open, blinking a couple times just to adjust my vision clearly from the bright sun. I stretched in my bed before rolling myself off and closing the blinds, like I've gotten used to do every single morning now. My eyes darkened as I walked to the bathroom, I hated that; when everything gets dark as soon as you get up.

I got ready for school while I paid attention to the clock, making sure I was still early before I made my way downstairs to see my mom sitting on the dining table as I smiled at her when I approached the table.

"I cooked today." She stated the obvious.

She hasn't cooked since like forever, because my dad was here to cook for us. But lately, after he left, we've just been ordering take-out and making waffles in the morning because all you have to do is put it in the toaster, easy. I was glad that she actually cooked breakfast this morning.

"I'm sorry if it's not like your dad's, but I spent like an hour trying to make the eggs and bacon come out like perfection." She smiled and I giggled as I sat down and took a bite.

"Not bad," I rose my eyebrows.

She had just finished her food, leaving her plate empty as she stood up and placed it in the sink. "So, I'm actually leaving a bit earlier this morning." She informed me, wrapping a scarf around her neck. "I have an earlier shift at work, I'll see you after school." She smiled, quickly kissing my cheek as she headed towards the door.

"Bye," I don't think she heard, slamming the door before I can fully get the simple word out.

I finished my breakfast and made my way to school. The bell rang right when I got there, and I spared no time before I made my way to first period. I got invited to a birthday party not too far to go, maybe a couple weeks. But I took no hesitation rather than just tossing the invitation out in the trash. I've never even talked to the girl who was having the party, I think her name is Lauren. Her boyfriend, Matt, invited me to the party.

I was now making my way to the cafeteria throughout the chaos of all the other teenagers raging for some food. Before I turned the corner into the cafeteria, I bumped into Harry. I chuckled before tucking the strand of hair peeking in front of my face. "Sorry,"
