Chapter Forty Three

Lizzy

The lasers were flashing brightly throughout the ballroom as I grinded against one of the boys in my class, but I couldn’t help but think about what was happening on the back porch with Beau and Emma. A smile crept on my face, because everything had turned out the way I wanted. I just hoped like hell they were rekindling their love. However, as I saw Emma running through the ball room, looking upset I couldn’t help but think things went badly.

I quickly pushed the guy away and ran towards the back porch. When the door slammed open, I immediately saw Beau sitting in one of the porch chairs with his head in his hands as if he were confused. Then, my eyes flew to the woman standing behind his chair with a bitchy smile on her face. “You little devil! Why in the world would you lock me in that closet?”

“How in the hell did you get out?” I questioned, angrily. I could have sworn I locked it! There is no way!

“Thankfully the janitor was still here and he heard me beating on the door. Now again, why would you do something like that?” She asked, while trying her best to keep her cool in front of Beau because I could tell if he wasn’t around she would have killed me!

I rolled my eyes, “You…” I said, pointing to her and moving closer. “You weren’t a part of my plan! You ruined everything!”

Laken laughed, while Beau still sat there in what seemed like shock. “Your plan? What exactly was this plan of yours? Was it to get Beau and Emma back together?” She said, hesitating, “If you haven’t noticed little girl, Beau has moved on!” She quietly yelled.

I shook my head, “There is no way! He loved her more than he could ever love you!” I looked to Beau who was looking at the both of us with a disgusted look. “Right Beau? Tell her!” I screamed. My eyes studied his for a moment, thinking he was going to tell Laken that she needed to go home or maybe thinking he would realize what he was really letting go. He didn’t move, or tell Laken to leave. He sat there in complete silence, like a coward.

Laken laughed, and at that moment I wanted to ring her neck. “Hun…” She said softly. “…This is obviously none of your business, and you need to stop meddling in other people’s business.”

I scoffed, “He’s my brother. That makes him my business!” I told Laken, trying my best to keep from crying. “You are not good enough for my brother, and you never will be!”
