After I saw Isaac being taken by the cops, Derek stopped his car in front of the school to pick me up and I blamed him for what he did to Isaac. Derek wants my help, so here we are, at Isaac's house.

"If Isaac didn't kill his father, who did?" I asked, holding a flashlight.

"I don't know yet." Derek replied.

"Then how do you know he's telling the truth?" I asked.

"Because I trust my senses. And it's a combination of them. Not just your sense of smell." He said as we walked throught the house and he looked at me.

"You saw the lacrosse thing today." I mumbled.

"Yeah."

"Did it look that bad?" I looked at him.

"Yeah."

I followed Derek and he opened the door that leaded to the basement.

"You wanna learn?" He asked. "Let's start now."

"What's down there?" I asked him as I walked down the stairs.

"Motive."

"And what am I looking for?" I asked, looking around.

"Follow your senses."

I couldn't see much but the room was pretty weird so I took a deep breath.

"What happened down here?" I asked Derek.

"The kind of thing that leaves an impression." He replied.

I walked a little more and I saw marks on the floor, like someone scratched it with their own hands. I looked up and I saw an old freezer, I walked towards it, grabbing the lock. I jumped when Derek turned the flashlight to my face, he was standing next to me.

"Open it."

I grabbed the lock and opened the freezer, making a noise. I looked at all the scratches inside the freezer. There were a lot of them along with some dry blood.

That's when Derek told me that Isaac's father locked him on this freezer for hours and also beat him a lot of times for no reason.

"This is why he said yes to you." I said, looking at Derek.

"Everyone wants power." Derek said.

"If we help you, then you have to stop." I said. "You can't just go around turning people into werewolves!"

"I can if they're willing."

"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?" I asked.

"Yes, and he still asked."

"Then he's an idiot." I snapped.

"And you're the idiot who dated Argent's daughter, trying to forget Cassie." He said and I looked at him. "Yeah. I know you're little secret. And if I know, how long do you think it's gonna take for them to find out? You saw what happens to an omega. With me, you learn how to use all of your senses. With me, you learn control." He grabbed my hand, showing me my claws. "Even on a full moon. Plus, we still don't know what Cassie is, what do you think the Argents are gonna do? They are going to kill her, being a werewolf or not, because they don't care."

"If I'm with you, I lose her." I said.

"You're gonna lose her anyway." He said. "You two are kids, you don't even know what is love." Derek closes the freezer. "And you know that." He began walking away.
