Mikey x Reader - Long Ride Home

I sat in the booth with Ray, Mikey, Gerard, and Frank. We were on tour and were headed home. We had stopped at this little pizzeria for something to eat before we got on the bus. So there we were, eating pizza and playing truth or dare. "Truth or dare," Ray asked me.

If history could tell me anything, it was to never take a dare from these guys. "Truth,"

"If you could date anyone in this band who would it be?"

I blushed wildly as Frank, Ray, and Gerard all exchanged glances. They knew, and they knew that I knew. I had a huge crush on Mikey. But, was I going to say that? Over my dead body. "Uhh... probably... mmm... Frank."

"Oh, I bet," Frank said as they all held back laughter, besides Mikey, who had absolutely no idea what was going on. "You're sure you don't like-"

I cut him off before he could finish. "This pizza is really good," I stated loudly.

Frank laughed and looked at Mikey. "I think that translates into-"

But once again, I cut him off. "Anyway, if we're all done we can hit the bathrooms and pay."

"You know what," Ray said, joining in. "that sounds like a good idea. Why don't we all go to the bathroom."

Then I realized my mistake. They were just trying to get me to go to the bathroom so they could tell Mikey. But the problem with that was I actually did need to go. There must be some way out of this. "Hey," I said, and idea dawning on me. "Why don't we all go to the bathroom and Mikey could stay back and pay, then he could go when he's done."

I was waiting for the guys to say no, so when they all nodded in unison, I was really surprised. They all stood up, heading to the men's bathroom as Mikey went up to the counter to pay. I mentally patted myself on the back as I walked into the women's bathroom. I thought I had won this fight. Keyword: thought. Little did I know that it only took Mikey a second to pay and he was in the bathroom right at this very second, all of the guys telling him exactly what I didn't want Mikey hearing.

I got on the bus to wait for the guys after I finished in the bathroom. A second or two later they all entered, and at that moment I realized that I had screwed up. Gerard looked down at me sitting on my bunk and pulled a dumbstruck Mikey in front of me. "We'll give you some alone time," he said, following Frank and Ray into another separated, small section of the bus.

Mikey sat down on my bed. "Mikey, listen, I-"

"Is it true?" he said pleadingly, looking me dead in the eye. "Please, don't lie."

Did I want to lie? Absolutely. But the way he asked just... he seemed so desperate for something I couldn't put my finger on.

"Mikey, I don't want to ruin our friendship." I began, looking down for I couldn't bring myself to make eye contact with the man. "But, for a while now... I... I have had a crush on you. I just can't make it stop, Mikey. It just-"

"Don't," he said, placing his fingers on my chin and gently pushing it up, forcing me to make eye contact. "Don't ever make it stop. I... I r-really... I really like you t-too."

My eyes went wide as I stared at his face. Then, ever so slowly, we both began to lean in. Our lips collided as sparks flew. The yearning in my stomach I had become so used to I forgot about, was gone. The emptiness was filled. I felt complete.

I pulled away from Mikey, both of us a deep shade of red and smiling like little kids. I heard a low whistle from the corner of the room. Both Mikey and my heads whipped around to spot Gerard, Ray, and Frank standing in the corner. And, from the looks of it, they had been watching the whole time. "Finally!" Ray exclaimed, coming closer. "I was so sick of-"

Mikey threw a pillow from my bunk at him, still blushing. "Back off, Toro."

"Woah, woah!" said Frank, also advancing, not far behind Gerard. "Tell your girl to calm it, Mikes!"

I thought it was impossible, but both of our faces turned even redder. "And, just think," Gerard said, smiling slyly. "We've still got four hours 'till we get home."

Both Mikey and I fell back onto my bunk as the other three men laughed around us. "This is going to be one long ride."
