Revenge (Completed!)

Cassie woke up alone. Isolated in a cold, unknown room. Do you know what that can do to someone? It creates anger, pain and insanity. Not only that but it gave her time to think about her memories of her family, how much joy they gave her and now how all her happiness had been ripped away from her.

She missed them dearly but she couldn't shake her anger over how viciously they were murdered. Thinking about how kind and caring they were not just to their family but to strangers in need of aid, they didn't deserve any of it. She could feel all her anger simmering under her skin like a fever.

A door opening pulled her from her thoughts and she came face to face with her "mate". They stared at each other, neither knowing what to do. He ran his hand through his hair and shifted from foot to foot; he seemed to be a lot different when there wasn't other people around but she was still frustrated with him so she didn't care.

"I'm not sure what to say, you lost your family and I know there's nothing I can say to make it better", the Alpha says quietly.
I just stare at him, it's not like he would know what this is like would he? I've lost everything, my family, my pack, my home and I'm stuck here injured in this random place whereas he is in charge of his own pack, he has friends and his family here but I'm alone.

I just scoff and try to move but being a wolf on a human bed makes it difficult.
"Anyway... Doc says that if you get enough sleep tonight then you should be able to shift tomorrow when he gives you the once over." Although she was annoyed she couldn't help but notice how intoxicating his voice was, it sent shivers down her spine. But he leaves without saying anything else.

He DOES know I don't know his name right? Or is he purposely trying to make himself look more like a fucking idiot by not telling her? Even though she wanted to get up and rip someone's throat out there wasn't much she could do due to her condition so she just laid there and waited until the time was right.

The rest of the day was pretty boring, Doc came in every now and again to check the vitals but other than that nobody else came but that was to be expected. Night was drawing closer and she felt herself getting better by the second meaning she can shift freely soon and find her brother. She hoped he was doing okay - if he was still alive that is. Cassie let her eyes drift close, for hopefully, the last time before she was going to see her brother.

"You okay?", Zach asked as he sat down at the creek with his sister. "Just peachy, Zach", she said wiping the stray tear running down her face. He sighed and pulled her head onto his shoulder, he knew she wouldn't listen to anything he had to say to her so he just sat with her hoping his company was enough.

Cass never let anyone help her, she was just too stubborn for her own good, even with her own brother. Although she was grateful for his unspoken support whilst she had her moment of weakness. He was always there for her as she was for him even if they were mad at each other sometimes nothing could ever beat sibling love.

Cassie woke to a door opening, she saw Doc standing with a backpack and a bright smile. That could only mean good news which she could use right about now. "So I've checked you over, from sleeping a reasonable amount and keeping as still as you could your stitches have fixed up your cuts nicely and you did have a few broken ribs although they are mainly healed now they just might be a bit sore", he says cheerfully.

For once she felt a ghost of a smile on her lips, "There are some clothes in the bag and across the hall there is a bathroom where you can shower, I'll leave you to shift and sort yourself out".

Cassie nodded her head and begin to get up, the crackle of her bones from getting up for the first time in a few days showed, she didn't smell amazing, looked like hell and had a mood like someone pissed in her cereal before she ate it.

He smiled and left Cassie to do as she pleased, she picked up the backpack by her teeth and pushed the doors open to go to the bathroom. She clicked the door shut before putting the bag down and shifting, normally it didn't hurt at all at her age but due to her injuries it hurt like a bitch.

She groaned as she stood up and wobbled to the sink before looking up in the mirror. Her ashy blonde hair looked brown from not being washed and her grey eyes were bloodshot from the stress she had endured. Her face was covered in blood and mud it's a surprise Doc could look at her with a straight face even in Tala's form.

"You look like shit. Clean yourself up, I don't want our mate seeing us like this", she sneered. Cassie rolled her eyes, "I'm getting there, but you shouldn't care what he thinks, you should care about finding Zachary.", she snapped back.

She felt Tala grumble in the back of her mind but left her to it, she was dying for a shower and didn't want to wait any longer. The feeling of the water soaking into her scarred and broken skin made her feel alive, she felt the pain and accepted it, it fuelled her anger.

She watched the mud and dried blood go down the drain, the physical pain began to subside but she knew the mental pain would take a long time to heal and it would start with ripping that black wolf to shreds.

She stepped out the shower and whilst she dressed she inspected the clothes they gave her and they weren't too bad for a males choice. She had a plain blank long sleeve shirt with denim jeans and black and white trainers including the obvious underwear which was *exactly* the type you would expect boys to choose for you... she was curious as to who got them for her but dressed in them anyway as it was all she had.

With the disgusting underwear in mind she hesitantly opened the door and walked out to find the halls empty once again. She even used her werewolf hearing but couldn't hear anything at all, it was becoming strange that they would let a stranger - basically now a rogue, loose without any supervision on their land. These were a weird pack.

After checking if anyone was in the hospital building she decided to try the house Orion and Adam went too; she may not like her mate but they seemed alright to her. Cassie opened the front door to humid air hitting her face, the Shadow pack lived in a much warm climate in this part of America than her home in chilly Canada.

She sighed missing the snow and her home but knew she couldn't go back right now. Making her way to the house across the way she started to take in her surroundings, there were a bunch of log cabins surrounding a beautiful glistening lake.

However, there was one cabin which stood out to the rest which was the one Adam and Orion went into... it also seemed to be the Alpha's house. The Alpha's house is almost always bigger than everyone else so of course it was.

She rolled her eyes but knocked on the front door, she didn't want to enter on her own accord, god knows what she would find on the other side. A familiar black haired idiot stared at her goofily, "Hello warrior princess, feeling any better?". She rolled her eyes and pushed her way into the house, she came to a living room with Orion and her mate talking on the sofa who both stood up when she entered.

As soon as she entered the smell of strawberries was overwhelming but she pushed it aside, there were more important matters to think of right now. "Look who I found!", Adam said cheerfully as he plopped himself down on the sofa. Orion rolled his eyes, "Do you ever stop making yourself look like a stupid idiot?".
Adam smirked, "It's my job as beta don't you know".

"Why did you choose him? Why do I have to be beta?", Orion complains to my mate.
My mate just smirked and shrugged enjoying their squabbling. Cassie just rolled her eyes as they continued to bicker. The Alpha silenced them through their mind link and looked his little mate in the eyes, "How can we help you?".
Cassie crosses her arms angrily, "I want to find my brother".
