18. The female ruler

The leader is a masked woman. She is sitting on a throne made from Ivory and marbles.

Kai saw a chance and took it. She pushes a nearby guard and steals his sword. She aims the leader's neck.

A raider stands between her and the leader. He fights Kai. A strike from Kai splits his helmet into two.

She couldn't believe her eyes.

Jin is the one behind the helmet. The one who had captured them from the start.

A grayish bubble trapped her.

Jin stares the leader when he asks, "Shall I kill her?"

The leader nods her head.

The bubble is getting smaller around her. She couldn't breath.

V yells, "Jin, stop! I beg you! Please!"

Jin stares him. He shows no sign of recognizing him at all.

"Don't do this! She's our friend!" yells Aimee.

Jin stares Aimee. He tilts his head and looks confused.

Suga suddenly says, "She's the strongest warrior among us. You can't kill her just like that."

Suddenly the leader claps her hands.

"Take her away. Let her prove her salt in the Arena," orders her.

The bubble bursts. Kai is gasping for air. Some guards take her away.

The leader walks down from her throne. She walks toward Suga.

A hard slap from her.

Suga rubs his cheek.

"A traitor has finally come home. You don't know how long I have been waiting for you."

"Nine years and nine months, Ma'am."

"Exactly. Come clean. I shall spare your life."

Suga stares the others.

He explains, "We got many gifted persons  here. You would want to recruit them."

She stares them. She doesn't look impressed.

Suga says, "RM. Super strength."

RM proves his word by lifting the heavy throne with a hand.

The leader doesn't seem to be impressed. Not until RM puts down her precious throne.

She only says, "He could stay."

"How about him? He doesn't look strong enough," asks her while pointing to V.

V replies, "I'm the human radar."

"Oh really? We got many impostors like you."

Suga quickly says, "He is telling the truth."

The leader asks, "How many wells we have here?"

V closes his eyes. He concentrates for a while. Finally he shakes his head.

He opens his eyes and then he replies firmly, "None."

RM protests, "It couldn't be nil. V, tries again."

V shakes his head.

He answers firmly, "No well above ground. I could sense large water deep underground. Maybe you stored water there?"

Finally the leader says, "You could stay."

She stares Jimin.

He quickly says, "I'm a talented engineer. I could make any kind of machine you want."
