Magazine Interviewer (MI):Alexandra, congratulations on your engagement! Can you share with our readers how Charles proposed?
Alexandra Heroux (AH): Thank you! Charles's proposal was a huge shock to me. He actually attempted three proposals before the final one. The first was at our favorite spot in Monaco, but paparazzi ruined the moment. The second was during a yacht day, but a thunderstorm cut our plans short. The third was a lovely picnic, but he forgot the ring! The fourth time, he chose our usual evening routine at home, reading together. It felt so natural, and he poured his heart out with the most beautiful words. It was perfect. I just felt awful that I was so oblivious the first three times!
MI: That sounds incredibly romantic! Can you give us a glimpse into your plans for the wedding?
AH: We want the wedding to be a celebration of our love, surrounded by close friends and family. We're considering a destination wedding, perhaps in Italy, given our love for the country, but we don't want anything huge and over the top. Plus, we're in no rush to get married - we've both said we'd like to enjoy being engaged for a while first.
MI: Any specific elements you're excited about?
AH: Oh, many! We want the ceremony to be intimate, filled with love and laughter. We want it to be a day filled with joy, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. Carlos keeps joking around saying we should get married in Maranello at the Ferrari factory, but I've shot that option straight down - Charles was seriously considering it as an option.
MI: How about your vision for marriage? Any particular goals or dreams as a couple?
AH: Charles and I share a vision of a lifelong partnership. We want to continue supporting each other's dreams and growing together. Ultimately, we want a home filled with love and laughter. But, on the same level - we're not going to stop competing for that World Drivers Championship. At home, he's Charles, but on the track he's another car in my rearview mirror.
MI: Anything else you'd like to share about this exciting chapter of your life?
AH: Just to cherish every moment and embrace the unexpected. Life has a way of surprising us, and it's these moments that make the journey truly special. We're grateful for the love and support we've received from fans and well-wishers, and we can't wait to embark on this next chapter together.
