Chapter Fifty: The Riddles, Memories, and Locks

RIDDLE'S POV

RR: Did you guys hear about Leighton Lockhart?

OM: Who hasn't? Teddy really messed him up.

JJ: He broke Arthur's nose. 

TFT: Broke it? More like shattered it.

"All over a girl too!"

Spritz walks up behind the four of them.

OM: Spritz!

NS: Malfoy!

TFT: Spritz, don't you have a class to get to?

NS: Well yeah but--

TFT: Maybe you should get going then.

NS: I see...okay.

Spritz walks down the hall in the opposite direction.

OM: What's your problem Tasmin? 

TFT: Wha--

RR: Taz, are you jealous?

TFT: No. I--

RR: Do you like Malfoy?

Tasmin flushes a bright red, her eyes beginning to water.

JJ: Taz, it's okay--

Jallena tries to put her hand on Tasmin's shoulder but she runs away, wiping her eyes.

JJ: Great. Thanks, Riddle.

Jallena runs off to find Tasmin, leaving Riddle and Malfoy alone.

OM: Why does this keep happening?

RR: They love you mate. You are a sight to see.

OM: But I don't like Tasmin like that...I like Spritz.

RR: I know. I can tell.

OM: Is it obvious?

RR: "Spritz!"

He mocks Malfoy.

OM: Yeah...I see.

RR: Taz is just jealous. She'll accept it soon enough.

OM: I just feel so bad.

YOUR  POV

George bursts through my office door with a letter in his hands.

Me: George, I'm working.

GW: I know, love. Figo sent a letter.

Me: Is everything alright? 

GW: For the most part.

He sets the letter on top of a file. I grab it and open the seal. 

Dear Mum and Dad,

Everything is going great at school, basically. Teddy beat up Leighton Lockhart at Yule. He also beat up another guy today. Arthur has been a pain recently, so I get why he did it. Mum, Headmistress McGonagall says it's her last year at Hogwarts. I'm pretty sad about it, she's really awesome. I know you really liked her so maybe you will come to say goodbye before school ends. Anyway, I hope the joke shop is doing well still. Freddie says hi.

Me: She's retiring?

GW: She's been teaching at that school for years. I'm surprised she didn't leave sooner.
