With the completion of The Half Blood Mate, I want to say that the story is suppose to be one geared toward the lighter side of life.
I wrote this story to focus on the life between two people who found love, but is faced with that love being taken away. I wanted them to think that the worse possible things could go wrong only to realize at the end of their journey that life doesn't always throw you the shorter end of the stick. That as long as you try (show effort) good things will still happen. I see way too many paranormal/supernatural stories that focus on a lot of extremely dark situations. I wanted to show a different way with the paranormal/supernatural genre.
