"Morning," Tim murmurs as Mirana's eyes open.

"Morning," Mirana says, rolling over to face him. "You still visiting Isabel today?"

"Yeah," Tim nods. "I'm going to give her the divorce papers today"

"On Valentine's Day?" Mirana quirks an eyebrow. "Aren't you a true romantic?"

"I was thinking," Tim murmurs, tracing patterns on Mirana's arm. "Tonight, I'll cook for us. Some nice wine-"

"No beer?"

"Not tonight," Tim grins at her. "I can't believe you managed to convince Grey to give Chen a day off to come with you to the deposition"

"Having a father who tried to kill you and bucketloads of trauma helps," Mirana hums. "Besides I didn't ask Grey, I spoke to Andersen"

"Nicely done," Tim grins at her. "Go straight to the big boss. What time is Chen getting here?"

"In two hours," Mirana says, checking the time on her phone.

"That might not be enough time," Tim sighs. "But I'll make it work"

Mirana lets out a squeal as Tim loops his arm under her waist and moves them so that he's hovering over her. He leans down and presses a kiss to her lips and her hands move up to his hair.

"So," Lucy says as they walk into the D.A.'s office. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm just ready for it to be all over," Mirana says.

"I can't even begin to imagine," Lucy sighs sympathetically. "I thought you were bringing Tim?"

"No," Mirana shakes her head. "You have enough self-restraint not to leap over the table and punch the defence lawyer. Tim doesn't"

"That's very true," Lucy nods.

"Besides, he's gone to serve Isabel divorce papers,"

"He's doing what?!" Lucy exclaims. "Mirana, that's huge!"

"It is?"

"It means his entire focus will be on you," Lucy grabs her arms. "Have you got Valentine's Day plans?"

"He's cooking for us," Mirana says.

"He might try to make it official!" Lucy exclaims.

"Right after serving his wife divorce papers?" Mirana shakes her head.

"I'm serious," Lucy says.

"Mirana Cabrera?" A suited man approaches her. "My name is Sean Del Monte, I'll be prosecuting your father's case"

Mirana shakes his hand before introducing him to Lucy who also shakes his hand. Del Monte leads them to a small room before beginning to explain what is going to happen.

"You can't let them get under your skin," Del Monte says. "They're gonna search for any way to twist the narrative, all you need to do is tell the truth"

Mirana nods as an impeccably dressed woman enters the room, a briefcase in her hand.

"Sophie Yates," The woman introduces herself. "I'm here on behalf of my client Elian Alonso to start this deposition"

Mirana acknowledges Sophie Yates with a nod. The atmosphere in the room becomes more tense as the deposition begins. Sophie starts questioning Mirana, attempting to poke holes in her testimony and cast doubt on the events that transpired.

"So, rather than call 9-1-1, you opted to call Officer Tim Bradford," Sophie says. "Why?"

"With the imminent threat to my person, I knew I wouldn't have time to tell dispatch my name, badge number and address," Mirana says.

"My client alleges that you told him to shoot you,"

"And he didn't need much convincing," Mirana retorts.

"So you provoked my client?"

"No," Mirana shakes her head. "He provoked himself when his fragile ego started crumbling"

"You claim your father had an imminent threat to your person. Can you elaborate on that?" Sophie presses.

"He was armed, agitated, and threatened violence," Mirana responds calmly. "My primary concern was to prevent harm to myself"

Sophie Yates leans in slightly, her tone becoming more pointed. "And yet, instead of calling for professional help, you relied on a fellow officer. Was that because you wanted to ensure a particular narrative?"

Mirana maintains her composure. "I needed immediate assistance, and Officer Bradford, who was nearby, could respond faster than waiting for 9-1-1 to dispatch."

"Officer Bradford left his wife who had a GSW to the head to come to your aid,"

"Not relevant," Del Monte says.

Mirana's jaw tightens, but she keeps her focus. "Officer Bradford made the choice to respond, and I appreciate his assistance. It doesn't diminish the imminent threat I faced."

"You have it out for your father don't you Miss Cabrera?" Sophie Yates asks. "You get a kick out of diminishing him? Testifying against him at thirteen years old and then being willing to testify again"

"Maybe my father should stop committing crimes with me as a witness," Mirana says.

Sophie Yates leans back, studying Mirana. "Do you have any sympathy for him, despite everything?"

"My sympathy ended a long time ago," Mirana responds. "He's made his choices, and I've had to live with the consequences of those choices."

"How was it?" Tim asks when he opens the door.

"Awful," Mirana groans, kicking her heels off. "His lawyer's a bitch"

"Here,"

Tim hands her a glass of wine and she smiles at him, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

"She bought up the fact that you left Isabel to come and help me instead," Mirana says, taking her hair out of the neat bun it is in.

"You know your father might use the fact that we're involved in his case?" Tim says, heading back to the kitchen.

"Even if he doesn't get found guilty of attempted murder, there's a mountain of drugs charges against him," Mirana says.

"You think he'll get found not guilty?"

"I think he'll get offered a last-minute plea deal," Mirana says as Tim brings two bowls of food over. "You made Fricase de Pollo?"

"I tried," Tim says and Mirana grins at him.

Mirana takes a bite, savouring the flavours. "You succeeded. This is amazing."

Once the meal is all cleared away, Tim begins to play a song from his phone and Mirana gasps.

"How did you-"

"You sing it all the time in the shower," Tim says, offering his hand to Mirana which she takes. "I just had to google the lyrics"

"Bury me beneath the willow," Mirana sings quietly along to the song as she and Tim sway to the music. "Under the weeping willow tree. So he will know where I am sleeping, and perhaps he'll weep for me"

"You have a nice voice," Tim murmurs, leaning down before he captures Mirana's lips with his own.
