Chapter 37: Nighters Diner

~Normal Point of View~

After a short walk in the cold night, the two mages finally arrived to a Cafe. They stood in front of 'Nighters Diner' which is only open when the sun is hidden. Since it was 6 hours before sunrise, the two would have more than enough time to enjoy a late night meal.

"Well, Lets go in." Lucy said as she lightly nudged Natsu inside the Diner.

Natsu opened the door making a bell sound off signaling their arrival, causing a man with wearing an apron walk their way.

"Welcome to the Nighters Cafe! Right this way." The waiter said guiding  them to a window booth.

"I'm Jonathan and I'll be your server for tonight."  Jonathan said as he handing Natsu and Lucy the menu for the Diner. 

The two decided to order the Late Night Special that came with Hot Wings, Fries, Burgers, and Chocolate Milkshakes depending on how many people were included.

  After Jonathan took their order. A silence fell between to the two only the light chatter of the other guests were being heard. Small talk between groups about how their day went or how they were doing. The only thing the two shared were glances at each other that neither one was aware of.

There food was shortly brought to an end when Jonathan placed their food in front of them  each said Thank you as Jonathan left to attend another table. 

"How did you find this place?" Natsu asked with a mouth full of food. With that small question, sparked a whole conversation. Questions about how they made it to where they are now. How Lucy got her own partner. Her new keys she found. The times she spent with SaberTooth. 

Natsu spoke about his training journey along with all the places he visited with Happy while training. Also his confrontation with Gildarts while he was gone. Sometimes even boasting about how strong he had gotten. Memories about the guild they were both in found its way into the conversation

The blonde mage shed a few tears remembering the fond times, soon she was comforted by the fire mage. 

  Lucy explained why she joined another guild and how she wasn't the only one who had done the same.  This sparked an idea in Natsu's head.  The words he said next completely startled Lucy. Tears fell down Lucy's face again as she thought about it.

"Lets bring back Fairytail!" Natsu said pushing his finished plate aside excitement evident in his eyes. 

Lucy gave a simple nod with teary eyes.

~Back to the House~

It was 3 hours before sunrise when the two finally arrived back at the house. They quietly entered the house hoping not to wake up Rogue who was soundly asleep on  the couch with his arms folded across his chest with frosch on his lap asleep as well.

The two then went to the kitchen each grabbing a glass of water.

"Where do I sleep, Luce? Since Rogue is sleeping in my original spot." Natsu asked rubbing the back of his neck.

"Rogue doesn't like anyone is his room, none the less sleeping his bed. You'll have to sleep in my room." Lucy explained as she walked up stairs with her water in hand. 

Natsu stood their unsure if she was serious or not. He always bursted into her room, now that he has permission it felt unnatural.

"Hurry up or you're sleeping on the floor." Lucy said peeking out her head from around the corner. Natsu quickly walked up stairs catching up to his blonde partner. Kirara laid on her own bed next to Lucy's. While Happy slept on the end of Lucy's bed.

"You sleep on that side, move to my side and you're sleeping on the floor. Got it?"

Natsu quickly nodded his head at Lucy's seriousness, he then jumped onto the bed causing his partner to wake up.

"Natsu?" Happy said tiredly.

"Sorry little buddy. I didn't mean to wake you up." Happy shook his head at Natsu's apology. He walked over Natsu's stomach to sleep under his arm.  

"Your back so its alright." Happy said his voice trailing off. Lucy couldn't help but smile at the sight of her two best friends together. 

"Goodnight Natsu, Happy, Kirara." Lucy said as she tucked herself under the covers of her bed.

The two then shared a goodnight as dosed off into dream land.

~Natsu's Point of View~

I woke up with a bad feeling in my stomach, and its not because of the food we had earlier. But more of the feeling like I was being watched. I looked to my left and saw Happy in the same spot where I saw him last night. I looked  to my right and saw Lucy's head on my shoulder with an arm wrapped around my stomach. Her light breathes were hitting my neck making me shiver. 

'Was she hugging me in her sleep?!' I couldn't help but blush at the sight. 

I was about to start moving when I heard a voice cursing in the corner. I tried to move without making either one next to me wake up, but as soon as I did a fog moved next to next to Lucy and disappeared.

On queue Lucy shifted away from me and off my shoulder waking up. She looked around before her eyes landed on me, she turned back to the window staring out into the sunrise.

"Did I wake you?" She said quietly. I shook my head in disagreement and only gained a nod as Lucy got off the bed and walked into what I'm guessing was the bathroom. Then, a knock came onto the bedroom door.

"Could you get that please." I heard Lucy say from behind the bathroom door. I moved happy onto the other side as I got up and opened the door.

"Where's Lucy?" Rogue asked looking like he just woke up too.

"I think in bathroom or something." I said as I walked back to the bed and sat down. We both heard the water turn on. Rogue walked over to the door and knocked.

"What is it?" Lucy yelled over the water so he could hear. 

"We have a mission for the counsel from Doranbolt." Rogue said then walked out the door closing it behind him.  

The counsel? As in The magic Counsel?
