Selena Colosel

I immediately packed my things after learning what happened to him, I can feel my heart beating as we drove away to go back to the my pack. What will I do if he dies? I don't know the answer.

"What the hell happened Francheska?" I demanded.

She shook her head, looking worried. "I don't know okay? I just got a call from Dashia, stating that the pack was attacked the next day we left." She answered, frustrated.

That caused me to clenched my fists, if only I knew that the pack will be attacked after we left then we wouldn't...

I shook my head, I can't think like this. My pack needs me and I know it is partially my fault because I acted out of my emotions.

"Luna," Rovan greeted, bowing.

You will notice that even if it was in respect, he's not really that happy to see me. His eyes held no emotion as he stared at Francheska and I. My best friend looks hurt seeing that his mate looks as if he hates her. And I understand how she's feeling knowing that soon we might have the same situation.

I nodded, "Hello Beta Rovan, can you please bring me to Thaddeus' room?'

"Yes of course Luna," He answered but it looks like he's hesitating at something.

"Is there a problem?"

"Luna Selena... before I bring you to the Alpha King, I would like to tell you the truth first. Concerning about how the Alpha acted these past few months. I think you deserve to know rather than be put into the dark."

I stared at him, confuse. But I didn't utter a word, but followed him instead.

Five days before Selena and Thaddeus met

Rovan Owen

The Alpha and I were silently talking when suddenly we heard a knock on the door.

"Enter." Thaddeus called out coldly.

As the day of my sister's death anniversary approaches, he starting get even more hot tempered and aggressive. The pack members are getting nervous when the Alpha King is near them, some are even avoiding him.

Felico entered with a blank face, "Alpha someone is here to see you."

"Tell him or her I'm busy." He replied with a nonchalant tone.

And we started again to discuss about the upcoming event.

"I deeply apologize Alpha King," Our heads snapped at the direction of the speaker, "But when it comes to the Moon Goddess' prophecies, no one is busy."

Felico left excusing himself that he has some other business to attend to. But if i know he just doesn't want to be involved with the prophecy.

Both of our eyes watched the beautiful seer that prophesied about Thaddeus being the next in throne rather than Theseus causing an uproar to the whole Lycan world and many problems as well. It is when Theseus started to rebel against his own kingdom leaving it behind. Also the cause of the past Alpha King and Luna Queen passing away because of the grief of losing their oldest son.

"Deraphine," Thaddeus greeted who stiffened as he mentioned her name, "What brings the great seer of the Moon goddess here again?"

She trailed her fingers through the armrest of the couch she was sitting on making me stare at her, as I she continues to move her fingers around I noticed something. The way it twirls around its like she was writing something that she was trying to memorize. She didn't even answer the question of Thaddeus making me and I know him, anxious as to what she has to say to us this time.

After a few minutes, she stopped. Turned to us, her eyes glowing.

"Alpha King Thaddeus Dalton, your mate may have died but a new one shall come. You have ascended the throne and lost almost everyone that you cared the most. But you shall cost her pain most throughout the days that you spend with each other. But take heed dear Alpha, all you need to do is to understand the real meaning of having chance to have second mate."

I gaped at her, the seer just announced to the two of these news calmly like it won't affect a lot of people. Her face was stoic, no emotion can be seen on her face. It made me think, does she even feel any emotion inside that stoned heart?

"Call a witch," he commanded, his eyes filled with confusion but his face is sturdy.

"What for Alpha?"

"To cast a spell on me. This new mate of mine doesn't deserve a broken man like me, she deserves someone better. It will be for her own good."

And he turned to look outside the window, looking as if he was contemplating if what he was about to do was right.

"What does the great almighty king of the Alphas want from a simple witch?" Feruella asked with a taunting tone.

She knows how much our kind hated to ask help from them knowing they only cause trouble. I was about to attack her for insulting Thaddeus but he held a hand.

Giving her a neutral face, "Cast a spell on me that can't make fall completely for my mate. That will make me totally believe that I still love Rosalinda. Make me feel guilty every time I start to feel myself loving this new mate of mine more that the dead Luna Queen."

I was stuck in my place as I heard his words, what is he thinking? Why is he hurting himself even more than he should? No one knew the real past he had and he deserves to have at least a woman leading the whole kingdom beside him. But it  was also taken away from him.

"Then so shall be it, your highness." She answered with a mischievous smile that formed her lips.

After the ritual, the Alpha was always like he was not himself. Like he was two years ago, honestly the wounds had already healed after three years. But it was like it reopened after the spell was cast on him. Like he was mourning again for the death of my sister and their son.

It pained the whole kingdom to see their king in this situation, but the truth has remained inside the walls of this castle.

It made me realize that someday, the truth will only be the one thing that will set everyone free from the effects of this prophecy that everyone has been shouldering:

The pain and guilt they have been hiding inside them for too long.
