The Past or the Present?

Thirty-One...

I sat beside his bed, hoping that he would open his eyes and smile at me. But then I have been here sitting for almost five hours, but then there was no changes about he's vitals. The pack doctor warned us that with his situation right now there will be no assurance that he will wake up.

Coma, is when the patient will be in deep sleep. But when I asked when he will wake up, the doctor shook his head. He told me, I asked the wrong question. The right question, will he ever wake up?

After the explanation that I heard, I can feel the hope slowly fading away. What if...

I shook my head, no I can't think like that.

Especially now that I know the truth I will not give up. I will make sure to help to fight the spell stopping him from loving and wanting me. I will make sure that after he wakes up, I will be in his arms happily. No doubt, regrets and guilt from stopping us.

"Selena..."

I turned to face the person who went inside the room, Dashia.

I smiled softly, "Dashia, do you need anything?'

She sat beside me and stared at the sleeping figure of Thaddeus, "I just learned something." She whispered softly.

I was curious as to what she wants to say since she looks confuse.

"Do you know a woman named Serena Dalton, or Serena Colosel?"

I froze as she mentioned the name of my long lost sister. It's been long since I have seen her, I was only eleven that time.

I gulped, "Why do you ask?"

She took a deep breath and turned to look at me, "it's because she has been with Theseus, since she was eighteen."

With what she said, it only made me understand what was really happening around me.

"And you're their daughter? It's just with your age it's impossible that my sister was the one who gave birth to you." I asked looking confuse.

She's already the same age as me and my sister is only seven years older than me. Then it may be she's Theseus' child with another woman. But then, he would be also too young to impregnate a girl.

She threw her head back and started laughing, "Oh god, No! When I was ten my parents were killed during a fight with other werewolves..." The laughter in her eyes died and tears started to fall, "No one would take care of me. So mom, your sister Serena took pity on me.

"She wanted to adopt me but didn't know if Her mate will agree, especially Theseus never trusted her since the day she tried to escape. But then it took everyone by surprise when he agreed without even arguing or talked to her. Maybe it was because he always love mom, and it was enough to make him say yes. Since then, Serena has give in and didn't try to hold herself back to fall for dad,"

As I listened to her story, it made me realize that even though Theseus hated my mate and was ready to do anything just to harm Thaddeus. He has loved anyone who was close to him without any reason. Not that I'm comparing the two brothers, I think Theseus loves more than Thadd.

But something caused me to get confuse, "And that didn't stop your father in his seeking for revenge?'

She shook his head, "No, you're wrong. Theseus was ready to stop with his plans in hurting your mate. But something happened that made him want to hurt the Alpha King even more."

Three years ago

I was walking side by side with Xeal, when Theseus mind linked us to go to the pavilion. Everyone can feel his excitement that made everyone confuse. This got to have something to do with mommy Serena. She's the only one who can make these emotion come out from his stone-cold masks that hides his emotions perfectly well.

when everyone was present, we were just patiently waiting for the two come out.

But something took us by surprise and made everyone's jaws drop and gasps loudly.

The almighty King of Rogues, that's face always held a blank face is now grin etched in his face and happiness can be seen in his eyes. who would have thought that a man as cold and heartless as him can show that extreme emotion that not even me has shown to anyone.

"Look at you're adoptive father's face Dashia, am I hallucinating or the Rogue king has a grin etched his face and not his usual thin line." He whispered with a hushed tone. Eyes wide in shock and surprise.

I stood still, unable top answer his questions. Even I, have no answer to give because I have never seen this side f the man who have adopted me. even though I can feel his compassion and care towards him. But I have never seen him show that kind of expression to me. But maybe he shows it to the queen and it wouldn't surprise us.

"To everyone who is here, I would like to announce to you all a good news that has made me come to a decision to stop trying to get revenge against my brother." He beamed even more, "My mate, your queen is carrying my heir!"

And with those words everyone burst to cheers, that made some tears fall from my eyes. Not of sadness but with happiness. I know they deserve this to be happy at least. Serena laughed at our celebration but squealed when she was suddenly lifted from the ground by Theseus and twirled. Their foreheads touched smiling at each other happily.

It made everyone happy that the cold, heartless Rogue King has finally found his own happiness.

Three days have passed

And the atmosphere has changed, everyone's smiling chatting happily with each other.

No one has been thinking of revenge since the day the upcoming heir has been announced,

But that all ended when we were attacked. Growls can be heard, it was a blood bath.

Yes many died, it was tragic.

But what was even more painful, was when the Rogue King and Queen lost their child. The heir, the next in throne. But it was even more painful to them because they lost their first child.

Serena has locked herself inside their room. Theseus has locked himself inside his office. But when he called everyone to have a meeting his cold words sent shivers to our spine. But it didn't surprise us one bit.

"Kill the Alpha King's mate... and heir."
