I sat beside him, still contemplating about what Dashia told me. I can't believe Thaddeus have done something so... so... harsh.

I stood abruptly and left  shutting the door behind me with a slam. I felt furious, how could this pack get angry when they were the one who did something I never imagined they would do.

Or was it a secret?

"Rovan! Felico!" I shouted making both men turn towards me, confusion can be seen in there eyes. "Let's talk inside Thaddeus's office." I demanded.

Rovan rolled his eyes at me but followed, but Felico was quiet. I know the two of them cannot resist the Luna's voice. I am the second most powerful over them.

With he's head bowed down, "Yes Luna?"

"When would you tell me that your pack was responsible for the death of the Rogue King's child?" I asked with gritted teeth.

I feel so angry knowing I lost my first niece or nephew. It is my own blood and my sister and her child isn't even part of their feud. I can't even imagine my sister being through so much pain.

Felico's head shot up, his eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about Luna? Our pack has never killed anyone without a heavy reason."

"You may not have killed the unborn child my sister and your alpha's brother purposely, but you killed it when you attacked them three years ago!"

Rovan's eyes held anger, "Not even once that we attacked the rogues." He said slowly, "Even though Theseus have caused so much pain in the Alpha King's life, never did Thaddeus thought to hurt him. He still respects that bastard even after all the things he had done because he is still older than him."

The intensity of his anger made me take a step back, by the tone of his voice I can sense he was telling the truth.

All the things have made me even more confuse, who is telling the truth?

"Beta! You're still talking the Luna, show some respect." Felico hissed.

"I'm so tired of trying to respect her! What is the purpose of having a mate to support you when she will be the cause of your own downfall!" He growled angrily, "I have learned my lesson well, trust is not to be given to anyone but yourself. Not even to our so called mate."

And with that, he gave me one last glare and left us. It made me understand that Francheska broke him and made him ruthless. More ruthless than their sleeping Alpha.

"I apologize for how Rovan acted. He was never this way, he was always respectful to those he knows are superior over him. But now... He changed into someone we know nothing of. He turned to a mere stranger to us." The Gamma gave me a sad smile and left,

I went out to go to the gardens, I saw Francheska sitting on one of the stone benches crying. So I approached her wanting to ask what's wrong.

But before I can even utter a word she spoke softly, "I heard what Rovan said awhile ago."

I froze, oh no.

"France-"

She shook her head, "I should have listened to you when you warned me not to leave the pack behind. Now here am I, crying. How pathetic of me, isn't it?" She asked laughing but the tears didn't stop.

I didn't answer, instead, I just hugged her tight. Saying that I will always be there for her.

"Rovan has always been sweet to me since we learned we're mates. He always chose me over anything, even when it comes to pack duties. Me? Not even once did I make him my priority. " She took a deep breath, "And now he got tired of it."

She stood up and ran, "Francheska!"

She didn't turn back and within seconds she's gone.

Rovan Owen

I watched as she ran away from the Luna. It broke my heart to see her crying because of me. But I will never admit such thing, as I have said I already learned my lesson.

It's time for me to move on and just focus on my responsibilities as the Beta of the Royalty pack especially the Alpha King is incapable of running it.

"Rovan."

I turned around and saw Felico looking at me seriously. When he calls us by our names and not by title it just means what he wants to talk about is not connected to the pack.

"What do you want Felico? We don't have time to talk, we still have some things to finish." I answered curtly and was about to turn my back when he spoke.

"Why are you hurting your mate Rov? You're making things between you complicated when from the beginning there was no problem to fix."

What he said made me angry, how dare him?!

I glared at him darkly, "Listen her Gamma," I inhaled deeply, "You know nothing about what my mate and I have. There is something more of what happened which I don't need to share with you because you are just a third-in-command!"

I saw something flicker in his eyes but it immediately turned blank, "Well I deeply apologize, Beta." He emphasized my title, "But you know what I am saying is true." He turned his back and walked away, but before leaving completely he said with so much meaning I wanted to just go insane and punch him.

"You really have changed, no longer the Beta everyone knew. You are now a ruthless person whom to everyone is no one but a stranger but with face of the person they once knew."

No one knows the truth, no one will ever understand why I'm like this. Everyone can go and judge me for treating my mate coldly.

I am ready to face the pack members scrutiny, for I know no one will ever understand my situation.

No one knows the pain I went through.

No one knows how I was when she left me, when she chose the woman she calls friend over me.

Only I knows what is the true meaning of pain and betrayal.
