It was almost break, and being honest with myself, I wasn't looking forward to it. Jordan was going back to see her family, but I wasn't. We'd only be seperated for a week, but anything could happen in that time.

Speaking of Jordan, she was avoiding me. She acted like it was nothing, but it was hurting me slightly more each time she walked away from me without saying a word.

It was gym class, and we were doing running relays around the track. Jordan looked like she was freezing. Imagining what she'd do if I walked over and put my arms around her, I kept my distance.

"Emery, you're next!" Mrs. Ellis cried and I looked up, paying attention, now. "You'll be racing Dennett!"

Jordan frowned, but she looked liked she should've seen it coming. I put on a smirk as she passed by me. She glared, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Come on, Jordy," I grinned, watching her glare at me harshly. "You can kick that redhead's ass."

Jordan smiled at the last part, and I widened my eyes when I saw she actually showed a reaction to something I said. She turned around, heading toward her competitor and our teacher.

As they stood next to each other, I couldn't help but check out the shorts Jordan was wearing. They were too short, and I was sure a few other guys in the class noticed as well. Aimee stuck her tongue out towards Jordan and said something, making Jordan roll her eyes. I couldn't help but think it was about me.

"On your mark... Get set... Go!"

Jordan passed Aimee with ease as she ran as quickly as she could. Aimee looked as though she wasn't even trying, which she may not have been.

"Go Jordan!" Lexi screamed, cupping her hands around her mouth. I did the same, cheering her on. A smile formed on her face, making one form on mine as well.

I wish I noticed sooner, but I just continued to stare with wide eyes as Aimee stuck out her foot, Jordan tripping as she passed her. The cheering stopped completely. Aimee began running again, sticking her tongue out at Jordan in the process.

Jordan had a few cuts and scratches, but nothing too serious. Of course, I didn't see her foot until she tried getting up. It was the one she cut earlier, walking around barefoot. The sock was soaked with her blood, and I heard her scream as she felt the pain in her foot.

"Aimee Dennett, to the main office, right now!" Mrs. Ellis shouted once Aimee returned from running. She was looking smug, but her face fell when she saw that our teacher noticed her stunt. "Will someone take Jordan to the nurse?"

Lexi and AJ were about to say something until Mrs. Ellis spoke up again. "Jesse, can you do it?"

Drag a bleeding Jordan to the nurse just so she could just ignore me the whole time? Then she'll get angry if I offer to help her?

"Come on, Emery," I sighed, putting her arm around my shoulders as I lifted her body up from the ground. "Let's go get you cleaned up."

My arm was around her waist as she hopped all the way to the nurse's office. I didn't even try to say a word to her, knowing that there was a good chance she wouldn't even reply.

"You sure you're okay?" I asked, guiding her into the nurse's office. "Does it hurt."

"Well, of course it hurts, you idiot," she muttered. I laughed before knocking on the door a few times. The nurse, Kate, opened the door with a bright smile. It faded when she looked down to see Jordan's uncomfortable posture.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"She cut her foot a few days ago walking barefoot, like an idiot," I replied for her, adding the last part for only Jordan to hear. She frowned, so I knew she heard me. "And then she was running today and a girl in our class tripped her."
