Sophia Blossom

A knock was heard on my door. As I answered a 'yes', Jennifer entered my office.

"Soph, Soph, come on. I've got an amazing news for you." She announced oh, so excitedly.

"What's the matter, Jen?" I asked as I finished signing a document. I know what she'll say, A) There's a sale at a nearby mall, or B) She again has a date set up for me (Which as always I will politely decline), or C) She has found a good looking boy for herself who she doesn't even know the name of but nevertheless she'll claim to be in love with that stranger.

I've got to know her more in the last month or so and as much as I love her, she still is a enthusiastic child deep down. Some people did find it childish here, but she is intelligent enough to know who deserves to know the real side of her. She doesn't let people at the office know this side of her and I feel privileged that she trusts me, with it. One thing about me, I respect trust and honesty more than anything. As I was saying, she is very cheerful and is a complete love child but she does have a professional side to her. I like her more for that.

"There's a man sitting in Mr. Grey's office right now and he has an amazing offer to make to you." Oh.

"What offer?" I asked as I stood up from my seat and evened my dress.

"I don't know the details yet but judging by Mr. Grey's facial expressions, he was surprise. He was smiling and nodding and I even heard him saying, 'Why didn't I thought of that' and then the man said it will be life changing and something like that." Jennifer informed me as her and I made our way towards Alex's Cabin.

"What? I am not able to understand you Jennifer. What are you getting at?"

"I am thinking maybe, the man wants to offer you a bigger, better job with him or something." Jennifer said excitedly. Wait. I'm satisfied with my job and am not looking for a change. Why are Jen and Alex even considering it for me? I am very happy and contented while working here. I am not changing my job just because I get more salary offered.

I knocked on Alex's Cabin door.

"Come in Ms. Blossom."

I opened the door and found Alex and a man in his mid 50s, I guess, on the couch.

"Hey Sophia, come have a seat." Alex said and I smiled at him taking a seat beside him on the couch. The man who was sitting in front of me and Alex, extended his hand for a greeting and I took it.

"Hi Sophia. I hope you don't mind me calling you that." He said politely with a smile.

"Hello Sir. No, I don't mind." He said and I flashed him a formal smile.

"I'm Daniel Grey, Alexander's Uncle. I suppose you know my wife, Regina Grey." I nodded in response.

"I'm actually here, to offer you something." He said and before he could continue, I interrupted him.

"Sir, with all due respect, I don't want a change of job. I'm not saying this because Alex is sitting beside me or anything, I'm saying this because I genuinely am happy with my job here as a fashion director. Thank you so much for considering me but I really am not looking for another job." I said with an apologetic look.

"Sweetheart, will you hear the man out first." Alex said with a chuckle. I was confused and turned towards Mr. Grey.

"Sophia, darling, I saw your photo in our magazine the other day for the ballroom dance photo shoot, in the credits section. As I saw you, a suggestion for you struck my mind and I asked Alexander here, to send me your resumé. As I got your resumé, I saw you're interested in being a model or perhaps, an actress. Am I right?" He paused for an answer and I nodded a 'yes'.

"Stella's is actually interested in casting one of our in-house model for their Paris campaign which is going to be held in about 2 weeks. Our team and Alexander will too fly there with the model. I came here to ask you if you're interested in doing the campaign as a model from The Fashion Fever?" He offered and I went numb for a minute.

As much as I have always wanted this, the only question in my mind right now was, 'Am I ready for it?' Because with all the fame, comes the expectations, criticism and hate. I'll get not only some fans but also some haters. And keeping that thought aside for a minute, what will happen after I do become a model. I can't just be a model for the rest of my time. I do also want to act. But how? After all I am a small nobody. I do not have a filmy background. No one in my family knows any powerful producer or director or anyone who can get me my debut role. I don't want to be stuck.

Alex sensed my tension and whispered something to Mr. Grey. He nodded and soon without saying anything to I or Alex, left the office to just us.

"Alex, I..." I turned to him but before I can complete my sentence, I was engulfed by two strong muscular arms. The comforting smell of Sandalwood enveloped me and I hugged him right back without thinking. He lightly massaged my scalp and I savoured the feeling of being in his arms.

"I know this all is sudden and overwhelming for you. Just know that this decision is to be made with your heart and not your mind. Just trust yourself and your talent. You are worth it. You deserve to be in front of the world. I'm not going to lie, it's going to be hard but it's nothing that a Queen like you can't conquer." He said and I smiled pulling away.

"I just want to ask you one thing." I said and he arched an eyebrow meaning for me to continue.

"Am I ready for it?" I asked with uncertainty in my voice.

"As much as I think you are, not being bias towards you, as your boss, I do think you are ready and deserve this opportunity." Hearing him say that, all my doubts flew out of the window suddenly.

I, with a courageous smile, said, "I'm ready."

"So you're signing the contract?" He asked with a hopeful smile gracing his face.

"Now, I am." I said and this time I hugged him.
