Sophia's dress for the office ☝🏻

Sophia Blossom

Today was Wednesday, which means Alex's second day in Boston, away from me. I was rejoining office today after about two very busy and eventful weeks. After a quick breakfast with Violet, which consisted of some Nutella pancakes and a cup of warm green tea with a hint of lemon, I quickly called Sam who gladly drove me to the office. I stepped out of the car and smiled at the magnificent building in front of my eyes. I kinda missed this place. I wore a smile on my face and made my way in. Julie, the woman at the reception desk, greeted me with a smile. I nodded my head at her and made my way up to my office.

Upon entering, I found multiple bouquets and congratulations filled card on the coffee table and the couch. I was amused by the sight in front of me. They were from different people who work here, encouraging me and congratulations me in the shoot and my other upcoming projects. I walked to my desk and took my seat. I started working on some files and didn't realise when the clock struck 1. I was feeling hungry so I switched off my laptop and took my purse to get to the restaurant across the street to treat myself to a good lunch. I was about to open the door when it flung open by itself.

"What in God's name are you doing here?" A very surprised Jen, entered my cabin. She kept the files she bought with her on my desk and kept her hands on her waist as if I'm a small notorious kid, who's up to something and she's my mother ready to scold me on my mischievous.

"Nothing in His name, here on my own, actually ." I replied with a wink. She frowned and said, "Are you done quoting Lucifer? I swear, Violet is rubbing off on you." I smirked at her as she caught the Netflix reference in my sentence. It was because, Violet loved the series, 'Lucifer', and suggested, I watch it with her. Turns out, I actually happen to like Lucifer Morningstar a lot. Tom Ellis is a very charming man to say the least.

"Didn't you read my message last night?" Jen questioned and I shook my head, negative.

"You're invited to a red carpet today and in fact, I made a reservation for you. The makeup artist, the stylist and the designer will be at your house in like 30 minutes. God Sophia. It's a good thing Julie informed me of your presence here, I was myself about to leave for your house in like 10." She said shaking her head sideways. I slowly nodded my head as the information sunk in.

"Now what are you waiting for? Come on." With that I called Sam and asked him to pick us up. In the next 10 minutes, we reached home. Luckily, there wasn't much traffic today.

We reached my house and I quickly changed into something comfortable and gave Jen a change of clothes too. True to Jen's words, the stylist, the makeup artist and the designer were at my doorstep in another 15 minutes. The event, apparently, starts at 4 and we had roughly two-and-a-half hours to get me ready.

The first thing we did was to finalise a dress. The most important and anxiety filled genre of getting ready for an event. I tried dresses after dresses after dresses. I tried gowns, skirts, mini dresses and one pieces. It took me literally 1 hour and 15 minutes to choose the final outfit but it was so worth it. It was soft white top with full sleeves and a pair of smooth black pants, it had a deep v-neck but wasn't exposing a lot of my skin. I kept the accessory to minimum. I wore a statement bracelet on my hand with small ring and earring.

After that was done, I sat on the couch in my room as Roselyn, the makeup artist and Aiden, the hairstylist started doing their work on me, simultaneously

After that was done, I sat on the couch in my room as Roselyn, the makeup artist and Aiden, the hairstylist started doing their work on me, simultaneously. My hair was set in a side swept look and Aiden attached some hair accessories to the left side of my head. Roselyn wiped my face clean with some wet wipes first and then started with the base of my makeup. We were in the middle of all of this when my phone rang. Alex's photo flashed on the screen. Since I was busy eating some sushi for a late lunch, Jen picked up the phone for me and kept it on the speaker.

> "Hello, love."

Came Alex's husky voice from the other side.

> "Hey."

> "How's the preparation for you first ever red carpet going?"

> "It's going. I don't wanna talk to you. My first red carpet and you aren't here."

I said in a fake angry tone. I completely understand he has work but that doesn't mean I can't tease him.

> "Sorry, Sweetheart. You know how much I wanna be there."

> "Doesn't matter. I'll never be your priority.
1) It's your company.
2) Your family.
3) Your future."

I think that was bit harsh. I should apologise to him for that. But before I can do that, he replied.

> "Jokes on you. You're already the second and the third ones."

How the f, did he handle such a sentence so easily. He defines 'charming'. I shook my head as I tried to bite my smile away.

> "Whatever."

> "Whatever."

> "You coping me, Alex?"

> "You copying me, Alex?"

> "Stop, enough."

> "Stop, enough."

> "I'm an independent, strong and beautiful woman."

I said emphasising 'woman'. I internally giggled as I waited for his answer.

> "Damn right, you are, baby."

Alex being his charming self said making me blush and the rest of all present in the room, laugh.

> "Okay, fine, you're distracting me. Now, let me get back at getting ready."

> "So, I'm distracting you, huh?"

A blush made it's way on my cheeks once again and all other souls present in my room smirked or winked at me.

> "Okay, bye."

I said and luckily before Alex could reply, Jen disconnected the call. After a little while of sitting there doing nothing productive and just getting dolled up, I was finally ready. I was looking so different, so professional. Nobody could say this wasn't my first time walking a red carpet.

As I wore my black pumps and took a small white clutch in my hands, the realisation sunk in

As I wore my black pumps and took a small white clutch in my hands, the realisation sunk in. I'll be taking another step towards my dream. I'm so thankful right now for all of this. But the biggest achievement of them all will always be Alex and my friends. The kind of support they show me is so unreal. They're always there for me and I'm cannot be more thankful.

My heart swelled with gratitude at their thought. I've got the best of the best.
