The rain didn't let up
until there are no clouds
in the sky for me to reach
The pain didn't let up
until I am nothing but a pile
of bloody shards on the floor
The guilt didn't let up
until I couldn't be
who I was anymore
The morals didn't let up
until I couldn't find what else
is there for me to teach
The rain didn't let up
—indeed, it continued
pouring so
until it drowed all
the flowers I took
too long to grow
The pain didn't let up
—indeed, it continued
pounding hard
until the heart it blinded
and the field it charred
The guilt didn't let up
—indeed, it continued
choking me
until I couldn't breathe
and the rest is history
The rain didn't let up
and shall continue on
so I'll dance in the open
until life has finished
its one and only song
