It's been a journey, love,
and I could say
—with confidence—
that I've grown
I've unlocked doors
I never knew existed
I learned wisdom
from the experience
none could replicateIt's been a journey, love,
of acceptance, rumination,
and of discovery
A journey of heartbreak,
storms, and tears held back
It's been a long time
in a short rush of putrid air
—yet I'm still here—
even though I believed
I wouldn't make it past
a day of overcast clouds,
flooding rains, and breath
not breathedThe road ends here
but the journey
continues on
—some things I'd carry
and others I'll let go
with no strings attached
but my memoryThe road ends here
and I stare into
the lengthening path
leading towards the unknown
I smile, knowing that new horizons
await those who seek them
—so I will—
the bags are packed
and they're lightI'll go now, darling,
into the bright sky promised
after the deep darkness
of what once has been my soulIt's been a journey, love
I learned to love and let go
so I could move forward
—there's really no other
direction but soIt's been a journey, love
and I couldn't have made it
without you
