Time went by in a haze
and you don't know
when you'll be able
to breathe nextShame went by in a daze
and you don't know how
you'll live the next time
people see your faceWords flew out in a race
and you don't know how
to hold back the things
you shouldn't have saidTears tore down your cheeks
and you don't know how
to keep inside the blood
you shouldn't have bledTime went by in a haze
—would you continue
as age ran and there's no
respite in the flow of days
At one point—it's good
that there's still tomorrow
to come but at too
many tangents
it's worrisome how
time goes by in a haze
and how things pass
with no regard
to anyone's waysYou don't know where
you would have gone
or when you would have
opened your mouth
until feelings pass you by
through an endless run
of meaningless grace and
words run off your mouth
like fire in an unguarded blaze
Too late now—
by the moment
we realize it—
time went by in a haze
