under judging eyes
and through
precarious means
I made a mistake
in trying to be the best
at everything only to
end up ordinary
at something

of saying the same thing
over and over while hoping
someone would hear me
until everyone just
stopped caring
I made a mistake
in trying to show
weakness until it's
only what people
defined me by
I made mistakes
—collosal ones, too—
I made a mistake
in thinking I can
