Cloud and Eevee were currently making their way to the Ruins of Paradise after Nurse Joy told them that's where Hapu would be. As they were making their way up the path, they indeed found Hapu, but she was struggling to control her Mudsdale.
Hapu: Calm yourself! Why will you not be still!?
Cloud: Huh!?
Eevee: Eievui!?

Hapu: What is the matter with you!? What has happened!?
Cloud: Hapu? What's going on!?
Hapu looked over and noticed Cloud and Eevee.
Hapu: Oh, it is you.
Cloud: What happened to Mudsdale?
Hapu: I don't know! It simply ran wild out of nowhere!
Eevee: Eievuivui!
Cloud looked down at Mudsdale and noticed something was stuck in it's huff.
Cloud: Wait, what's that in it's huff?
Using Iron Tail, Eevee smacked the object that was in it's huff, which was a Corsola branch.
Cloud: Well isn't this...
Hapu: Ah! This is a piece of a Corsola branch.
Cloud: If something like that ever got stuck in my foot, I'd go wild, too.
Cloud walks up to Mudsdale and starts petting it.
Cloud: It's alright now, mate.
Mudsdale: Dale!
Hapu: I see. You must be relieved, Mudsdale. Cloud, you're a good fellow. On the other hand...
Hapu then looked down saddened.
Hapu: I failed to notice the reason my friend was suffering... Who knows what would have befallen us had you both not arrived? Oh, of course! Will you let us thank you both in someway? Mudsdale is in your debt!
Cloud: You wanna thank us? Then there's one thing you can do.
Cloud then puts his hands together.
Cloud: Let's battle.
Hapu: Oh, a mere Pokémon battle?
After helping out Hapu and Mudsdale, they started making their way back down.
Cloud: Your gramps was the Island Kahuna, right? He must've trained you real hard!
