•Alex's P.O.V•

My head hurt...

I opened my eyes slowly, the bright light blinding me for a minute. I looked around, though with my vision blurred it was hard to make anything out. I felt something soft under my head and a thin fabric covering my body. I tried to sit up, then felt a harsh pain spike through my left arm. I groaned painfully before falling back. My head landed softly on the soft lump. I lifted my arm. The pain subsided, and as my vision finally cleared, I saw that my whole arm, from hand to shoulder, was covered in bandages. Glowing bandages.

"What the..."

I lifted the fabric and found myself half naked under the covers from the waist up. My feet were bare, my pants were torn at the bottom, my torso was covered in the same bandages around my arm. Those same bandages were found around my wrist on my right arm as well as my head. I found my shirt and jacket on a small dresser next to my bed and my shoes on the floor at the foot of the bed. I was confused.

"What happened to me...?" I muttered to myself, my voice softer than usual.

"Oh, you're awake."

I turned to see a relieved nurse Evergreen at the entrance. She made her way to me, a soft smile plastered across her face.

"Thank the trees that you're up. You had me worried for a second, Fier." She said. "How are you feeling?"

I stared at her blankly for a second before answering. "I'm...I'm fine, I guess." She let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good." She smiled. I tried to sit up again, this time leaning on my right arm instead of my left. Nurse Evergreen sat on a small chair next to my bed.

"Mrs Evergreen..." I started, staring down at my bandages. "...what happened to me?"

Her expression changed into one of worry. "You don't remember what happened last night?"

"I..." Slowly, it all came back to me. I snuck to the office, Bliss caught me, then he teleported us to the arena, and then my arm...and...

I felt my heartbeat quicken. My breathing started becoming more frantic. I found myself looking around the room in a panic. Tears started to form in my eyes which quickly fell down my face. Nurse Evergreen put her hands gently on my shoulders.

"Hey, hey, Alex, it's okay. It's okay now, you're safe. You're okay. There's nothing that can hurt you now." She said calmly. I lifted my hands to my face, sobbing uncontrollably. The fear I felt in that moment suddenly washed over me. Nurse Evergreen gently took my hands in hers and placed them in my lap.

She breathed in, counting to three with her fingers, held for a second, then breathed out, counting down with those same fingers. She took in another breath, counting to three, held it then let it out. I understood what she was trying to do and mimicked her, taking in a deep breath, counting to three in my head, then breathed out when she breathed out. We continued breathing like this for a while, and I slowly felt myself calm down, to the point where I wasn't sobbing as hard anymore. I closed my eyes as let out another breath.

"Are you calm now?" She asked softly. I took in another breath and exhaled after a second, then opened my eyes and nodded slowly.

"Okay. You're alright now. You just had a little panic attack, but you're perfectly fine now, right?" I nodded.

"Alright. Would you like some honeynut tea to calm your nerves?" She asked. I didn't know what honeynut tea was, but I nodded.

"Alright. Sit tight, and I'll be right back with your tea."
