So many people told me that dreams come true,
But they often forget that,
Nightmares are dreams too.

Ria's pov:-

'Loser!'

'You are a disgrace.'

'You should die.'

My eight year old self looked around, unable to foccus on their voices.

The tears streamed down my face, but it only entertained them further.

No one bothered to speak for me. Take a stand for me.

They all just stood there, laughing at me. Mocking me.

"You are a loser." the girl kicked me.

"I...I am n-not a lo-loser." I took deep breaths, trying to ignore the pain, but it was difficult.

"I...I a-am str-strong." I broke into a series of coughs.

Upon hearing my words, they burst into fits of laughter.

"Strong people don't cry!"

"Str-strong peo-people don't ma...make others c-cry."

"You idiot! Shut up! You can't speak." she pulled my hair.

"S-stop! Please."

Desperation was clear in my voice, but no one helped me.

They only watched.

Watched as she,

"Stopp!" I woke up with a jolt.

I looked down, only to find myself on my bed, underneath the covers.

It was a dream.

No, it was a nightmare.

Wiping the sweat beads from my forehead, I looked at the clock.

Strange, I thought, how you can be living your dreams and your nightmares at the same time.

I am in hell, if I miss one pill. I get nightmares so often, everyday infact. People might think that I've gotten used to them, but the thing is, you can never get used to your nightmares.

It's different everytime. Despite the innumerable times I tried to tell myself that they are just illusions, I can't ignore the fact that they are illusions from my past.

Created by my mind.

I looked at the clock.

5:45 a.m.

It's early. Too early to be out of bed, but I'm sure that I can't go back to sleep.

Atleast, not without dealing with another nightmare.

"Let's go for a run." I mumbled to myself.

Quickly, changing into a white tee-shirt and some leggings, I plugged in my earphones, and I am ready to go.
