"Ugh, I hate them so much!" You half yell as you walk out of your classroom with your best friend Hansol.

You had just gone through your usual ordeal of having to listen to the girls in your class torment you, saying nasty comments about you and pulling your hair. You rub the back of your head, angrily wiping your eyes. Hansol shakes his head sympathetically at you.

"I know, she's horrible... Why don't you get Jun to stop her?" He says.

Jun was the most popular guy in your school... And your boyfriend. You had been hiding the bullying from him, mainly because it was happening because of him. All the girls wanted him, so whenever he got a girlfriend, she always got tormented.

However, he could help as everyone respected him, and you loved him more then anything.

"Yeah, I will. He'll help me." You say confidently.

You suddenly feel someone slap the back of your head and you turn around to see the girls sneering at you. The leader smirks at you, looking you up and down.

"Hey, you trashy freak. Make sure to give Jun a kiss for me." She walks past you, laughing.

Her and the rest of her friends purposely bump into you, causing you to fall forward. Hansol caught you just before you hit the ground and you fought back the urge to punch her.

"Oh, I'm gonna kiss him alright but it won't be for you, bitch!" You call after her, but all your words did was make her laugh more.

"Just leave her alone!" Hansol says, but they didn't seem to hear him.

"I'm going to talk to Jun, see you later yeah?" You say to Hansol, as you walk away from him.

"Yeah, see ya." He glares in the direction that the bullies went.

You walk into the yard and you see Jun talking and laughing with his friends. You sigh and smile goofily at his blinding perfection and you resist running to him head on. He sees you walking up and you jogs over to you, grinning.

"Hey, Y/N!" He says excitedly, pulling you into a hug. You hug him back, feeling his hand gently stroking your hair.

"Hey there." You say as he pulls back.

You raise yourself a little higher, waiting him. He laughs and leans in, pressing his lips to yours and kissing you softly. You smile happily but then he pulls back, studying your face carefully.

"Have you been crying?" He asks, sounding concerned.

"Uh, not really... Actually I wanted to talk to you about something." You say, nervously.

"What is it?"

"For a while now... Well, it's just I don't exactly get along with some of the girls in my class and I know it's stupid but it's really getting to me and I don't know what to do." You say, all in a rush.

"Is that it? Just ignore them." He says, shaking his head.

"It's more than that, they hurt me. Physically. They pull my hair and push me over. And stuff." You say lamely. This wasn't the reaction were you expecting from him.

"Stay away from them...?" He says, looking at you weirdly. You look down too embarrassed to look him in the eye. You hear him sigh and you look up to see him run his hand through his hair. "Which girls are they?"

You turn you head to where they were standing, not too far from where you were standing. They were watching you and Jun, laughing again.

"Them." You say, your voice shaking a little. Jun puts his fingers under your chin and lifts your head up. He leans in a pecks your lips gently.

"I'll go talk to them." He says softly.

You watch him walk away to them, breathing a sigh of relief. He stops in front of them and scratches his head. He looks almost apologetic and you notice that the girls are clearly flirting with him. You start to feel
uncomfortable as the leader of them walks right up to Jun, their faces were an inch apart.

"That bitch." You mutter, angrily.

Jun backs away from her but he smiles kindly at her. They talks for a few more minutes, even laughing a little bit. You clench your fists as he walks back over to you, looking down and smiling.

"Well, that was interesting." He says, happily. "Y/N, why didn't you tell me it was my ex? She's really not that bad."

"What? Your ex?" You says quietly. He smiles, obviously thinking of a happy memory.

"Yeah, she told me that she was jealous of you because... Well, never mind. Honestly Y/N, you shouldn't have made a big deal out of it, its embarrassing."

He reaches out to you but you back away, staring at him in disbelief.

"Are you being serious right now?" You whisper. He looks at you weirdly again and you shake your head.

"What? What did I do wrong? I don't get you sometimes." He says. He glances toward the laughing girls and looks sheepishly at them, clearly embarrassed.

You don't even bother to reply and you walk away, tears welling in your eyes. You hear him calling out for you but you ignore him. You run toward the back of the school, feeling even more hurt when you don't hear footsteps behind you.

When you turn a corner in the school you see Hansol sitting on a bench, eating alone. He looks up and smiles at you goofily before seeing your face.

"Y/N! What happened? Did they say something to you?" He says standing up in front of you.

You hug him, much to his surprise. He hesitantly wraps his arms around you, holding you close to him.

"He didn't even care, he's friends with her, with his ex. He said I was embarrassing." You babble and Hansol holds you out in front of him, looking you in the eye.

"You can't be serious." He says and you nod. He curses under his breath hugs you again. "I'm sorry Y/N. I can't believe he would do that. You don't believe him, do you?"

You don't say anything and he holds you even fighting, suddenly more urgent.

"He should never say that to you. You know what? You don't deserve him. If he doesn't see that you're worth fight for, that you're worth losing every friend he has, then he's blind."

He holds you out in front of him again. You smile at him but his face is still serious. He reaches out, his hand shaking a little, and strokes your cheek with his finger.

"If I... If I was lucky enough to- if you were- well, I'd never do that to you." He says, so quietly that you have to lean in a little to hear him.

"You're too good for me, you goof." You say, playfully punching his shoulder.

"So what's happening between you and him now then?" He asks.

"I don't know. I don't want to think about him right now." You say.

"Listen." He takes your hand and holds it loosely in his. He plays with your fingers, not looking you in the eye. "I was wondering, if you maybe, wanted to hang out after school? You know, to cheer yourself up a bit."

"I'd love to." You say, feeling better already.

He breaks into a grin and opens his mouth to say something but at that moment the bell rings for class. You both look at each other sheepishly and he seems suddenly shy. You hold his hand tighter and start walking.

You walk past Jun, who was talking to his ex, and you smiled innocently at him as you walk with Hansol. He doesn't look you in the eye and you feel almost smug.

You then look back at the boy whose hand you're holding and you see him smile kindly at you.

Although he may not be the most popular or respected guy, Hansol was always there for you, which is more than Jun did.

And you were seriously okay with that.
