You walk into your local library, already stressed out about the amount of studying you have to do. You had your resting bitch face on, ready to show the world how completely done you were. There was nobody here your age that you could see, only a few elderly people which didn't help.

You've never been this desperate to come here before, but your internet was down in your house and you really needed it to study. Well, that's what your excuse was anyway.

You look around and spot the novel section, where the teen fiction lies. Immediately, the need to read kicked in.

"Just one book." You mutter to yourself, knowing you were lying. "Maybe a couple of chapters."

You walk over to the bookcases. You browse for a while, smiling to yourself as you did so. You find one, on the upper shelves that looked interesting. You reach out to grab it but as pull, it doesn't move.

"What the-" You peek around the side of the book to see half of a good looking face looking back at you. It was a boy, about your age, and he was always holding onto the book. "Hey, I need that."

"I saw it first." Came the reply. The voice was soft which contrasted with the words that he said. "Give it here."

"No way! Let go." You reply, tugging onto it. He holds on tighter, his face resiliant.

"I'm not giving this book up." He warns.

After a minute or so of staring off with him, you let go. You sigh and pick another book at random. You collapse onto a bean bag, in the children's section and start reading. To your horror you realize you'd picked up the last Twilight book, breaking wind, or whatever it's called. You didn't go and put it back as you were feeling way too humiliated from giving up to the cute guy.

He's not even that cute. You end up lying blatantly to yourself to make yourself feel better, a thing you do often apparently.

You start reading, having absolutely no idea what's going on, as you hadn't read the others. Suddenly, you feel a presence come up behind you.

"I've read that." Says the familiar soft voice. Cute Guy sits on the bean bag next to you and you feel his gaze on you. "It's good."

"Well, I'm sure it is, but I have no idea what's going on." You reply, a little sharply.

"Haven't you read the others?"

"Nope."

He sighs and hands someone to you. You take your eyes off breaking wind and look to see what's in his hand. It's the book you had wanted and you feel your irritation fading.

"Here, take it. We'll do a swap." He says gently.

You take it and give him the book you had. He happily flicks through it and you laugh a little. He looks up at you and smiles kindly.

"So, what's your name? Mine's Joshua." He says almost eagerly.

"I'm Y/N."

"Cool name. Do you like reading?" He asks.

"No, not at all. That's why I'm reading a book right now." You say, your voice dripping sarcasm. He rolls his eyes.

"I meant that, well... not a lot of people come here to read I don't have anyone to talk to in here, and it's nice to meet people who like books." He says. He looks excitedly at you.

"Awh, lonely Joshua." You tease. He makes an exaggerated frowny face. "I love reading actually. I shouldn't even be reading. I'm supposed to be studying. But I'm crap at that as I get easily distracted."

"Hey I can help you! What are you studying?"

"Maths. You don't have to you know, you just met me. No point wasting your time."

"No, I don't mind, I'll help you out."

You look at his eager face. You feel sympathetic and you really did need help so you nod and he immediately gets up and walks over to the studying section of the library. He comes back with his arms full of maths books. He dumps them onto your lap and sits down behind you.

"Okay, so I have several kinds here. How about Advanced Maths?"

"I'd literally rather read Twilight."

"Calculus?"

"I'd rather read awful Twilight fanfiction."

He gives you a weird look and you blush furiously.

"Not that one! Okay, okay, let's start with Advanced."

You open the book and stare blankly at the words. He leans forward, looking over at the book, his chin lightly brushing against your shoulder. His hand reaches forward pointing at the words on the page.

"See here? Now, it's not that hard you just have too..."

He explains it all in a clear soft voice and you tried your best to pay attention. But you very distracted by his face, mostly his lips. He occasionally looks up at you and you act like you're listening. You couldn't get over how eager he was to help you.

Such a gentleman, you think, smiling to yourself.

"There, you got it?" He sits up straighter and turns his head to face you. Suddenly, your face was inches away from this near stranger and he looked nervous to say the least. "If you practice, it shouldn't be that hard." He says quietly

"No, yeah, I think I got it." You say, nodding like you mean it.

"No you don't. You're an awful liar." He says, laughing.

"Well, uh, I may need a few more hours of studying." You say, groaning at the very thought.

"Well, if you keep coming here, I could help you more." He says softly. He goes a little pink and scratches the back of his head. "Uh, I mean if you want, you don't have-"

"I'd love to. I need all the help I can get." You say and his face breaks into a massive grin. At that moment you get a text from your mother insisting you get home. "Ah, I have to go."

"Wait! Uh, just let me, um..." He pats his pockets and brings out his phone. "Uh, could I have your number? So we can arrange a meeting. And stuff." He holds up his phone, trying not to sound eager.

"Sure." You reply, suppressing your smile.

You exchange numbers and the it's time for you to go. He walks you to the door, grinning the whole time.

"So, I'll see you soon?" You ask him. He nods eagerly.

"Yeah! I, uh... Would it be weird to say I look forward to it?"

"Not really." You lean over and give him a quick peck on the cheek. "Thanks for the help Joshua. I look forward to our study session."

"No problem." He touches the spot on his cheek where you kissed him and smiles.

You walk out of the library in a completely different mood than when you had walked in. You walk down your street, a massive grin plastered on your face. Maybe studying won't be so bad after all, if he's the tutor.
