As we got there. The guys walked inside to make it clear.

They came out.

Gabriel" I spent months here without stepping out the front door. If you found someone inside, well, it would have been surprising. "

Carl nodded" thanks for this"

Abraham " we found a short bus out back. It don't run, but I bet we could fix that in less than a day or two.  Father here Sammy's he doesn't want it. Looks like we found ourselves some transport."

Dad was ignoring him and looking at Judith.

I rolled my eyes.

Abraham " you understand what's at stake here, right?"

Dad nodded" yes, I do. "

Michonne " now that we can take a deep breath-"

Abraham " we take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down. "

I rolled my eyes and walked inside.

Then i put my bag on a bank and laid down on it as my pillow.

I yawned.

Dad gave me Judith and I sat her on my stomach.

They were talking on who was leaving for food and who stays.

Dad then came to me with Carl.

They kneeled down.

Judith was giggling.

I smiled at her.

Dad " I don't trust this guy. And that's why I'm bringing him with me. But he could have friends. So I need you two to stay alert and help Tyreese protect Judith, okay?. Now, I need you to hear what I'm about to say. "

Carl and I nodded " okay"

Dad shookis head " you are not safe. No matter how many people are around or how clear the area looks, no matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe. It only takes one second. One second and it's over. Never let your guard down, ever. I want you to promise me. "

Carl nodded " I promise "

I turned my head to look at dad " I promise "

Dad nodded " okay. "

They stood up and walked away.

Suddenly someone kneeled down behind me.

Judith began to laugh at the person.

I looked up and Daryl was looking down at me" of course you're leaving too?"

Then I sat up and put Judith on my lap.

He sat down next to me" yeah, with Carol"

Me " Stay safe"

Daryl " You too"

He had this look on his face.

I asked worried " What's wrong?"

Daryl " if this guy has friends and they show up while I'm go -"

Me " Then I'll cut their heads off. I can protect myself, D. don't worry "

He nodded and kissed me.

Me " just come back safe "

He nodded " of course"

I kissed him again.

He stood up and left with Carol.

Then Dad, Michone and the others left.

I laid back down and played a little with Judith.

After a while i fell asleep.

Night.

I felt something moving on my chest. I opened my eyes and saw Judith.

I smiled " Hey, baby"

Judith giggled.

I sat up and looked around.

Everyone was sitting everywhere around on the aisle.

I stood up.

They were all eating.

Dad " give her to me, Ken. You need to eat"

I nodded, kissed her forehead and gave her to dad.

Then I sat down next to Daryl. 

He put an arm around my shoulders and I leaned against him.

He kissed the side of my head.

Carl gave me a plate with some food and a fork.

Me " Thank you"

He smiled at me.

We were all sitting either on a bank or on the floor. Candles were the only thing that gave us light.

Glenn handed me a glas of wine.

I smiled and nodded at him.

Abraham " let me make a toast."

We all looked at him.

Abraham " I look around this room and see survivors. Each and every one of you has earned that title. To the survivors"

Everyone " survivors ! Cheers!"

I took a sip of my glas.

Abraham " is that all you want to be? "

Everyone looked at him.

Abraham " wake up in the morning, fight the undead pricks, forage for food, go to sleep at night with two eyes open, rinse and repeat? ' cause you can do on that. I mean, you got the strength.  You got the skill. Thing is, for you people, for what you can do, that's just surrender. Now, we get Eugene to Washington and he will make the dead die. And the living will have this world again. And that is not a bad takeaway for a little road trip. Eugene, what's in DC?"

Eugene "infrastructure constructed to withstand pandemics even of this fubar magnitude. That means food, fuel,refuge. Restart."

Abraham " However this place out, however long it takes for the reset button to kick in, you can be safe there. Safe than you've been since this whole thing started. Come with us. Safe the world for that little one."

He looked at dad " save it for yourselves. Save it for the people out there....we don't got nothing left to do except survive. "

I sighed and looked at dad.

Dad chuckled and looked at my baby sister" what was that? I think she knows what I'm about to say. she's in. If she's in, I'm in. We're in. "

Bob clapped " yeah"

I sighed. I wasn't in.

Glenn nodded " let's do it. "

Dad stood up and brought Judith to bed.

I ate my food.

Best thing I had in weeks.

Me " What?"

I could feel Daryl's eyes on me and looked at him.

Daryl " you're not in, hm?"

I shook my head " this world is too fucked up"

He nodded.

Me " I don't think that there's any hope.  Don't you think that if there was a cure they would've already spread it? "

Daryl nodded.

I drank my wine and looked around " you seen Carol?"

Daryl looked around " no. I'll look for her "

I nodded " be careful.  It's dark outside"

Daryl smirked " you know me"

he walked away with his Crossbow.
