Mystic Falls 1912

Sheriff: "Will you get home all right, Mr. Salvatore? I could send for one of the police vehicles." he says as they walk out a building together
Zachariah: "A little winter chill never hurt anyone,Sheriff Forbes."
Sheriff: "I'm less concerned about the cold front, more for your safety."
Zachariah: "One councilman's murder doesn't make an epidemic, Gerald. Good night."
Sheriff: "Night." he says as he watches Zachariah walk away before turning the other way
Zachariah is walking through town when he hears a twig snap. He turns behind him seeing nothing before turning back forward only to get stabbed falling to the ground dead

Present Day

Sheriff: "The mystery's not gonna get solved any faster with you yelling at me, Carol." she says as they walk up to the police station
Carol: "We have two council murders and an attempted murder on our hands. If you have a suspect, it is your duty to keep me in the loop."
Sheriff: "No, it's my duty to make sure I don't accuse an innocent person of being a serial killer."
Carol: "Just tell me who it is, Liz." she says as she opens the door for her and they walk inside
Alaric gasps awake seeing he's locked in a cell

Damon

Alaric: "I didn't do it." he says to Damon and the Sheriff from inside the cell
Damon: "You're arresting him? For what this nutjob Dr. Fell says?"
Sheriff: "No, I'm detaining him. The cell is for his own good. You were shot. Dr. Fell used vampire blood to heal you."
Alaric: "Dr. Fell is the one who shot me."
Sheriff: "Because you came at her with a knife."
Alaric: "Yeah, with a knife I had found hidden in her things."
Damon: "Are we gonna ignore the part where he's one of the killer's victims? I mean, the guy was practically stabbed to death."
Sheriff: "Well, Dr. Fell suggested his wounds could have been self-inflicted."
Alaric: "My God, you think I stabbed myself?"
Sheriff: "Look, I think I don't know what to think. I've got nothing except murder weapons from your stash and a respected member of a founding family pointing a very long finger."
Alaric: "She is setting me up. I'm being framed here."
Sheriff: "Well, that may be so, but I don't have any proof of that."
Damon: "Well, then we'll find some."
Sheriff: "No, just stay out of this, Damon. You getting involved is only gonna make matters worse."
Damon: "Listen, Liz-"
Sheriff: "Don't make me put you in that cell with him." she says as he stays silent and they then leave the cell room

Elena

Matt: "What are we running a marathon?" he asks as they run down the street
Elena: "If you can't keep up...:"
Matt: "Elena, you can't outrun your problems. Although it looks like you're gonna try" he says as she keeps going "I talked to Bonnie!"
Elena: "What did she say?"
Matt: "They're at her mom's house. Abby's gonna complete the transition."
Elena: "She decided to become a vampire?"
Matt: "Yeah. Caroline's gonna help her through it, teach her control and stuff."
Elena: "Did Bonnie say...Is there anything I can do?"
Matt: "She knows it's not your fault, Elena. She's just...Upset."
Elena: "Damon turned her mom into a vampire to save my life. It's absolutely my fault."
Matt: "You're gonna make me run more, aren't you?" he says as her phone rings "Who is it?"
Elena: "Sheriff Forbes. Everything ok? He what?" she says before heading back to her house to get her car

Jaylan is laying in Alaric's bed with eyes open when her phone vibrates against the pillow. She picks it up to see Damon calling and she immediately rejects it
Brielle: "Mommy." she calls her from her spot on the end of the bed
Jaylan: "What's up sweetie?"
Brielle: "I'm hungry." she says as Jaylan sits up and stretches her arms out
Jaylan: "Let's see what Alaric has to eat" she says picking her up before hearing her phone ring again. She sighs grabbing it to see the Sheriff calling her "Hey. Ms. Forbes. What's up?" she asks hearing her say that Alaric is in jail
