Adding on top of that, she's a mom!
Authors note: gonna be honest here... I had a hard time writing this chapter so it's not my favorite or my best but...
Stefan: "Mystic Falls. I was born here. This is my home." Damon: "And mine." Elena: "And mine." Stefan: "For centuries, supernatural creatures have lived among us." Jaylan: "There are vampires, werewolves, doppelgangers." Bonnie: "Witches." Klaus: "And even hybrids." Damon: "She needs human blood, Stefan, from the vein." Stefan: "If she kills someone, she will crumble." Shane: "Shouldn't you be in Mystic Falls killing vampires?" Connor: "Anybody gets in my way, they're dead. Do I have your attention? Let's talk about vampires." Stefan: "Run as fast as you can." Damon: "Why are you protecting him?" Stefan: "Klaus will kill anyone who knows Connor's tattoo is the key to a cure for Elena." Elena: "Stay the hell away from my brother. You said you were gonna protect Jeremy. I killed someone."
Jaylan: "You call me. No matter where I am if Brielle is in trouble you call me." she says angrily pacing in front of Damon who is sitting in a chair watching her Damon: "I know." Jaylan: "Do you? Because from what you told me. She was held captive by a psycho maniac hunter who not only killed someone in front of her, but shot Jeremy, and saw Elena's vampire face. As far as I'm concerned...she was in trouble." Damon: "We had it under control." he says as she looks at him in disbelief Jaylan: "You heard the list of things that happened right? How was that "under control"?" Damon: "I didn't want to worry you." Jaylan: "Newsflash Damon, I'm always worried about her. It's been that way since she was born" she says as he sighs "Speaking of which. Where the hell was Tyler at?" Damon: "He was handling the hybrids. I told him I would get Brielle out." Jaylan: "So not only am I going to have to kill my boyfriend I have to kill my baby daddy. That's just great." she says sitting down next to him Damon: "I'm sorry that I didn't call you. I knew that I wouldn't let anything happen to her and I really didn't want you to worry." he says making her sigh out Jaylan: "It doesn't matter Damon. If my child is in danger, I need to know. Whether I can be there to help or not." Damon: "I get it" he says nodding at her "I'm sorry." Jaylan: "Yeah whatever." she says as he develops a small smile on his face and pulls her into his arms just as they hear small footsteps coming downstairs

Brielle: "Mommy!" she yells running towards her Jaylan: "Hi sweetie" she says hugging her "Are you ok? I heard you had a very eventful day." Brielle: "There was a scary man that hurt uncle Jeremy." Jaylan: "Well I promise that Jeremy is ok. And that the scary man is gone and won't ever bother you again." Brielle: "How come auntie Elena's face looked different?" she asks making the two older ones look at each other Jaylan: "What do you mean different?" Brielle: "She looked scary. Like a monster." Jaylan: "She's not a monster" she says shaking her head thinking of what to say "You know how some people are one way and others are another way?" Brielle: "Yeah." Jaylan: "Well Elena is another way. And you might not understand it now because you're so young but just know that she and some people like her aren't going to hurt you. Ok?" she says as Brielle nods her head "Alright well what do you say we put you back to bed." she says picking her up and taking her upstairs when Damon's phone rings and a frantic Elena is on the other side
